Been away from the forum for a while. Mmml4, I assume by now you've gotten the answers you were looking for.

Toyrocs, I had an issue with cavitation in Moab but after cleaning the fuel filter between the cell and pump it seemed to clear it up.

I met up with Randy and Justin for the Marlin Crawler Roundup on the Rubicon. Also met some new friends Matt and Anna with their 40. Thanks all for a great time. Here are some shots of the Heepetr on Little Sluice and Big Sluice.

I seem to remember some sort of pin striping on the passenger side...huh. It was great wheeling with you, your rig is sweet!

so are you please with suspension performance? anything you need to tweak?

Oh..., do you mean this Matt? You sly dog you. Great time wheeling with you also. Can't wait for Moab.

Lenross1, I've been very pleased with the suspensions performance. The truck still needs sway bars to control the body on the off camber stuff. Hopefully this winter it will get a set. It took a while to get used to just how far the truck can lean, but I've found it amazing just how stable it still is. (I'm sure it has something to do with the 67" wms.)

Joe, Remember, you drove 1200 miles for that dent!:hillbilly:

I had a great time wheelin, with you...and your father!!:grinpimp:

Justin

You towed your runner to the trail or did you drive it?

Justin, if I had it to do over I wouldn't change a thing!;)
I sent Randy the pictures from the Rubicon. You might want to get copies from him as there are a bunch of good ones with you piloting the Gecko. Here's a teaser of you conquering the Soup Bowl. Had a blast wheeling with you as always, and thanks again for all the spots!

And Matt dominating the Big Sluice.

Lenross1, I trailered my rig from Montana. You never know when the rocks might bite back and leave you stranded. Plus the Heepetr is not the most pleasant rig to drive 1200 miles on the interstate!:D

The Gecko is awesome, one of the nicest rigs on the trail! As for my 40, I am ready for arb and an h41!

Thanks guys!

Well, it's finally back to work on the Heepetr.

To Do:
Bob "bed" 8-10 inches
New seats/harnesses
Less plastic - more armor
Suck down winches
and maybe, just maybe a Toybox.

Good start for a Montana winter...

Glad to be back. What's going on...Can I help?...... I made awesome progress tonight only to come home and find out I have the wrong cable for the camera I've been using. I took all the pics on the shop camera cause it's always set up on VGA but when I got home it was the wrong hookup... Anyway I'll post pics tomorrow. We got the body cut and ready to weld back together once some modifications have been done to the crossmember or it's been removed. Good progress though...pics to follow...

The pics from last nights' work...ready to go under the knife.

I had to cut part of the cage free as it will need to be shortened.

And finally with everything stripped and ready for some measurements.

The left side was the challenging one to get 8" out of. It's going to just work without getting into the pinch welds or losing any more support.

8" from the outside. The cuts were staggered by the width of the tape from the outside to inside. This way the welds will not share the same plane.

I had some help getting it cut. Thanks Jerry!

No going back now.

Un-bolting the body mounts.

And back together...almost. I'll have to cut out the crossmember that originally held the spare tire to let the rear portion sit down into place. Once its gone I can cut the rear body mount brackets off the frame and move them forward into place and re-weld. Not bad for an evenings work.

Damn. That shows that any job is easy with proper planning an preparation.

Good work!
