Just pulled my head from my blown 2f motor and sourced a replacement from Country Cruisers but once I got it off I noticed the valve chambers do not match. I have searched far and wide and cannot find the true answer to what I need. Please help!!! Pic is attached, replacement head is on left, bad head is on right

For reference:
My engine is: 1979
Block # 2F 335386
Head # 61010 1129 (Non US no air injection ports)

Replacement head I received was:
Head # 61031 0515

My pistons are flat top NOT domed

From a Mark Whatley post in FAQ.

'75-'80 US variant 2Fs used an open chamber and a domed piston.

'81 and later 2Fs used a closed chamber and a flat top piston.

Perhaps you need a later 2F head (81+) to match your non-us engine?

So the correct replacement would be a 61040?

1. There are 61010 heads out there. Expand your search.

2. I wouldn't make a 61040 head my first choice unless I was working with an '81 up block.

Best

Edit- get a turbo

I have always heard that the heads on the later flat top piston engines were much more prone to cracking than the earlier heads. Thinner castings IIRC.
