I am currently looking at this LC100 for sale, record is impeccable. every 5,000 miles by the dealer it was bought from. 1 owner through out it's 26yrs, 230,000 miles, bone stock.
They are asking $15,800, is this worth it or is it a bit high?

Sounds a bit high to me. Check recent sales prices on eBay, BAT, etc.

It does look really clean. Ask if master cylinder has been replaced yet.

A bit high but not by much, the radiator is a ticking time b0mb that should be replaced soon if you buy it.

If it truly is 100% up to date on maintenance; wheel bearings have always been done at 30k, TB/WP done recently, brakes done recently I think the price is reasonable in that condition. I agree with vipergrhd that the radiator needs to be replaced immediately. I would also check heater Ts, check for driveline clunk, and make sure every single little thing works properly. Ask the dealer for a full printout of maintenance and repairs.

I think it's a bit high. If it has recently had the brake MC replaced, new radiator, timing belt and water pump, fan pulley bracket, controls arms upper/lower (or bushings), actually all bushings on suspension, front diff bushings, all fluids, brake pads/rotors, all recently done then it may be a good deal. (I think I just listed everything done to my 100 over the past 4 years )

The interior looks a little rough. For that price I think I'd expect the inside to be a little nicer.

please define “clean”?

I wouldn't call this particularly "clean" other than perhaps the underside being relatively free of rust. The interior is kind of rough and we haven't seen the paint. Engine bay shows screw clamps (instead of OE clips) on the power steering hoses and the radiator hoses. Hmmm. As others have pointed out the radiator is toast. What does it mean that "records are impeccable"? That it has had regular oil changes, tire rotations and brake pads? All that (and more) should be a given. What you are really looking for in the records is how many of the known-issues and big-ticket items have been addressed? A short list of things to look for in the records, the more of these that have been done, the better:

transmission (it's a 2000)
timing belt/water pump AND associated items such as fan bracket
brake boost/master cylinder
steering rack
CV axles
control arms
radiator (well, we know about that)
coil packs/plugs
starter
alternator
recent brakes
recent tires

Heater tees are a minor item but important, seeing them in the records would be indicative of good maintenance. Also are fluid changes up to date? Diffs, TC, trans, PS. Also it is at the age and miles that many of us are replacing rubber- mounts, bushings, hoses. Any of that been done?

As far as what it is worth, prices are all over the place. Colors, paint condition, location, rust situation are all pretty important. As well as the maintenance. Good luck.

Maintenance is one thing but quality of parts is everything. Aftermarket parts do not last as long as the OEM. From the looks of the “new” CV axle it is aftermarket and they tend to fail much faster than an OEM.
