After a bit of help... Aussie, RH FJ62 with a 3F (not 3FE).
The cable going to the Idle-control valve on the back side of the carbie has a big square connector (its disconnected in the PIC). The next connector down does not seem to be connected to anything ( its a single blade connection, fairly short, that is actually connected to the ground of the Idle control valve as well, hence its coming from the yellow emissions control box in the Cab). Is this meant to be disconnected on a 3f? Tracking down some strange stuttering issues. Here's a pic;
