I had smoke coming from my dash the other day. Pulled the covers and found the wires to the mirror retractors were melted. Does anyone have the part number for this small wiring harness? Someone on the forum posted the part number for the switch which I also need as there was some damage to the controller.

Similar experiences? Cause. I replaced the original mirror with another OEM and its been working fine for over a year so not sure what the cause could be.

That switch is listed only for the 1st gen US models; the EPC isn't clear about what's included, but the only subharness in the 1st gen USDM LH front door I can see is 82506-60040. It is not available from US stock but it is available from Japan.

i have a 2006 lx470. Thank You Malleus. i'll have a look at that part number

As was mentioned above, you need to verify the switch part number with your VIN; the old switch may work, but it might not look correct. Sometimes Toyota changes part numbers becuase they just change vendors; sometime the part numbers change because the part itself is actually differerent.

As for the pigtail, sometimes the harnesses have a part number label on them. Check your passenger door and see if the pigtail there has one, if the LH door pigtail doesn't. The part numbers will be one or maybe two digits off.

I see my search is not unique. I did find more info.

Unfortunately the Lexus dealership that was supposed to have the parts search master wasn’t much help. I had put this on the side burner on low simmer.

I ended up buying the repair wires and I am going to just stab them on the back of the switch's pins. They are a tight enough fit that should be good until I am, if ever, able to find the part.
