Can somebody with one of these take a handle screw out and give me an idea of thread pitch and depth? Mine came with handles, but no screws :(

Much appreciated

I'm honestly over it. If it wasnt 100 to ship it I would feel better about it but at this point I don't care if I get one.

Agreed. I was really excited about a $300 Engel. But 3 weeks later a now $400 beat up engel sounds a lot less enticing. I'm annoyed because I contacted them the day everyone else did, kept hearing don't worry we're sending you pics and an invoice now. Never received either and they're apparently out now.

I kind of wished I spent the extra $80 for a brand new edgestar, my 2 cents.

can be an Edgestar compared to Engel en terms of " roughness " for our intended use .?

They edgestar has a pretty good rep on other forums from what I've seen.

For "my intended use" (very mild offroading, mostly highway miles) the performance(chilling/freezing items) is about the same. Your intended use may put you more towards an Engel. I doubt I will ever be at a 30 degree incline/decline to prove the Engel superior :)

My point is that if I had to choose all over again, I would choose, for my intended use, a brand new Edgestar with warranty over the used, slightly rusted, banged up, unknown aged Engel that I bought.

But I have the Engel, and I'm looking forward to at least 10 years of solid use unless I just jinxed myself in the prior statements.

They're M4-.70, 10mm length pan head screws. Probably made from a low grade stainless; mine are slightly magnetic.

Thanks Rok! Saves me from dragging it through HD trying to match it up.

Question: do y'all think the ARBs are $300 better than the edge star? The ARB at least seems more space efficient.

X2 ..

In my intended use .. I will take it to my muddy offroad trips with usually drive me trough rough roads, trails, jumps, vibration, heat and good amount of well pack ( boxed ) stuff in the back of Tencha ..

My brother has the edgestar and myself the waeco. For the same capacity, the waeco has a smaller footprint and draws less energy.

I think they're officially not responding anymore. They told me Monday that they had one set aside for me. It's been three weeks. Still no pics or anything. I'll just order the edge star when I need it. The 65qt is only $530 shipped on amazon. Anyone think the extra size is better than the 45qt?

If you google it you can find threads on other forums with write-ups and pics. The 65 looks huge to me. It takes up half the rear of the 80. One good suggestion I saw was to make a cardboard mockup of the overall dimensions before you order one. The size may surprise you.

On another forum I read about a brands called truckfridge our something similar. It is supposedly a rebadged indel b. It has a true danfoss compressor and has scored really well in comparisons. Its priced similarly to the Edgestar with better internals.

For anyone still looking for a fridge, I just found an awesome deal on the Scratch/Dent Edgestars. I just ordered a 63Q for $350 shipped to my door. They also have one left of the 43Q for only $313 shipped!

The link to the 43Q is HERE. If you want the 63Q, they're not on the website yet. If you want one reply here or PM me for the contact information.
