I have a 1997 80 series and I have what seems to be a very slow oil leak. I have no idea on the source so I was hoping someone could tell from the picture rather than me having to teak it apart and guess. Thanks for the help in advance

s*** runs down hill so check and see where the highest leak you can find is. I replaced my valve cover gasket, distributor o-ring, oil pump seal, and I think the crank seal as well and it got rid of a similar leak like that. Not sure which one did it though.

For the 1FZFE, the oil pump cover gasket is the most likely culprit.

there is really too much stuff around there to tell from looking at the lowest point. You need to clean the area and then find the highest point where the oil is coming from. Also, are you losing engine oil? Is it engine oil or is it power steering fluid from your pump?

Oil pump cover and/or front crankshaft seal.

Do all 3 while your in there.
You will need some special tools from Hobo Freight.
Whole job can be done in an afternoon.
I have the oil pump screws if you need them.
