I've just imported one from Indonesia. Everything is great, it needs a few little jobs doing but is 95% there. I'm now in the process of getting it registered. The Indonesian ownership documents etc are held at the Police station which I assume is protocol for that country. I have pictures of the documents but they aren't the clearest and they don't have all the info I need to fill the forms to register it in the UK. I'm probably going overkill but I'm looking for someone in the UK who has a later FJ that I could get all the UK recognised information from on their V5 (ownership document in the UK)

Obligatory idiot gurning in an FJ40 picture..

Do you know which V5 elements you need?
I have a HJ45 (Diesel LWB) so some of my data won't align i guess??
Where abouts are you?

PS.. well done for introducing "Gurning" to the Americas

I'll try and have a look tomorrow.
Estate rings a bell, and definitely historic vehicle.
Presumably you know the vin and engine numbers, and fuel and capacity.
My date of first reg came from the south African logbook - do you not have that date?

I don't think I'll ever have a date of manufacture, just a year but the chap in Indonesia is looking in to it. I have most other stuff, but dont have weights/dimensions/seats/mass. I'm not sure they are even required and I know I can get the info online but wanted what is on a V5 then I know if the online info is 5mm different the DVLA might flag it as wrong information.

If you need the date of manufacturer, you might post in the thread below or get a hold of the original poster.

Curb weight for fj40V is 3792lbs

Gen Market
Without Roll Bar (didn’t come with a roll bar when new)

FJ40RV-UC

F = 2F Gasoline Engine 4200CC
J = Land Cruiser
40 = Wheelbase 2,285 mm
R = Right Hand Drive
V = Hardtop (van or station wagon)
-
U = 3-speed manual transmission
C = Swing Out rear doors

The vin would tell us the month… the link above is an estimate of when the OP educated guess your truck would have come off the assembly line… this is not what they would be looking for

A date of manufacture is the month and year … that’s it

Your vin would tell us the MM/YY

If your not comfortable posting the vin you can pm me and I’ll look it up
