The red is an 87 extended, efi 4x4 auto, and the blue is an 85 single, 5speed, efi.
Been a lot of fun bringing these back to life. The red was on it's way to Mexico when I snagged it. The blue came from the original owner which was a Toyota service Manager years ago.
Thats my wife in the picture, she loves her 85..

Thanks..That 85 got the complete makeover with new seats, carpet, dash, back panel, paint , tires, timing chain, all new a/c componets, front axle rebuild, shocks, tints, tool box, and all was done by me & the wife, except redoing the seats..

Those seats turned out really nice.

welcome!!

Nice rigs. Now time for some custom tree branch pin striping.

The red one got new seats, carpet, dash, chain, tires, complete exhaust, and a whole lot of little stuff.
Trying to find a white 86 right now haha..

Problem then is you'll also want a black 1st Gen 4Runner too. :D

How'd you handle the dash boards? Rare N.O.S. (New-Old Stock) or professionally restored/rebuilt? I love how the seats came out and have been playing with the idea of having the Bascom brother's out here do some stuff to mine.

Lets face it you guys will soon hate me if not already......

Ultimately it all comes down to personal tastes versus what people want themselves. Myself, I've yet to find anyone overly distasteful of what I did to my 2nd-Gen Runner, in fact most see it as what could have been possible from a dealer's lot back in the day had the parts been available as an equivalent and functional upspec.

welcome to mud!!!
Hey where / who did you get to the carpet? is it one of those universal kits, or does it have the factory "molded" plastic backing specific for the truck? i need to get some for my 4runner?

also, who did the seats? local shop? where they able to match the original fabric pattern or is it just close??

Looks great

^FWIW Bryan, I've found most shops can come close, but it's pretty rare to have any access to the original materials.
~If you do find any, keep it to yourself, or pay it forward and pm me. ;)

Replacement molded carpet and vinyl mats for Toyota trucks. Is where I got the carpet for both trucks. Really easy to install, and yes it was padded.
I just bought the r/s Plastic overlay for both trucks, and had them painted to match the interior as much as possible.
They offered ones to cover the entires dash, but neither of my gauge cluster cover where cracked.
