It’s like $30. For the full kit. With shipping. That's good to hear.
Would be great to take care of it without having to get the full kit.
Thanks for the info.

It's not required for importing. Customs and DHS only care it meets their 25 yr rule, has all the right paperwork, and doesn't have a terrorist hidden inside.Previous Japan auction winners that now own the vehicles in the US, did you have the headlights adjusted Before or After delivery to the US?

You'd need to look at your specific state and make sure they haven't cranked up the rules to discourage imports, but I doubt they would get that detailed. Most states I've heard of don't do a real safety check. If or when they ding imports, it's generally on emissions. I've imported 8 cars to Arizona and researched Colorado (haven't imported here yet, but did the research just in case) and neither state bothers to check if you even have headlights let alone if they are correctly aligned. Generalizing a bit, both states only pay attention to emissions if you're registering the car in one of the populated counties, not the rural ones. I haven't tried to register one in CA, but I know CA hates diesels and makes it close to impossible to register one there... but from what I hear it's only the diesel issue, not anything about safety equipment, lights, etc.
My suggestion is wait until the car gets here and swap your lights with LEDs. It will fix the RHD vs LHD alignment while also improving your night vision.
Thanks for the options.the Koito kit is great, not only is it a genuine Toyoda part, its brighter by default of relays with power coming right off the battery, let alone the better H4 bulbs...
two plus sides here though,
1: its a regular ol' 6" round headlight so if you wanted some goofy arse LED halo j**p looking crap on your vintage rig theres that route,,, but, Holley, if i remember right, makes classic LED retrofit 6" headlight that come in the proper warmer color temp.
2: converting to H4 you can now run a proper H4 LED bulb if you want, but dont go the cheap Amazon route, those bulbs, while brighter arent shrouded properly and they scatter light all over the place.
even with the KOITO kit your not going to blind anyone with brightness, they are adequate but not impressively so.As long as the lights are bright enough to see the road (without blinding on-coming traffic), it's more than fine.
No Halos or LEDS for someone like me.
Thanks plentyeven with the KOITO kit your not going to blind anyone with brightness, they are adequate but not impressively so.
the lights come RHD or LHD because of the cuttoff pattern. the image below will illustrate this and i think you'll agree its less than ideal. KOITO for the win, and its an easy install for you or a local mechanically incline teen that wants pizza money

It's hard to believe stock 70-series lighting blinding anythingI've not found the RHD vs LHD headlight issue to be noticeable on the various JDM Cruisers I've owned, though some of them may have been converted to LHD headlights in Canada. Fortunately the narrow nose 70 uses a standard round sealed beam headlight and there are tons of replacement options and upgrades, both factory and aftermarket, should it become an issue for you.
