Is this a one piece or a seam down the middle?
Thanks
Is it installed yet?
Honestly, it's still in the packaging. It was a proactive purchase, meaning I knew I'd need it when the time came, and it was still available from Toyota. One never knows when Toyota, or any manufacturer for that matter, will discontinue a part... until it's too late. Been there, done that too many times.

Generally speaking, I prefer OEM parts when they're available, and especially so if they aren't egregiously priced.

The OEM headliner has a seam down the middle. This picture I just posted above is OEM. I will say that the seam is not as flat as the seam was in the factory headliner in my 1979 which was hardly noticeable. Before going with this oem headliner I had ordered one from Specter Offroad. It was a decent quality item and also had a seam, but didn't look the same as OEM. The color was a tad off (more tan) and the holes were sized and spaced differently. I'll be doing OEM again on my 1982 I'm about to tear into.

i bought an OEM for a couple hundred on ebay, but you will pay shipping and duties to get it from Japan so maybe close to $300 in the end. I'm sure you could find some other way to do it with less cost, just depends on the look you want I guess.

TIP from not a pro, but someone that has done it before. I hung the headliner over a 2x4 on some ladders, then used a heat gun on gentle heat to remove the wrinkles. I left it hanging to touch up/make sure the wrinkles stayed out before installing.

FWIW, I think you did a spectacular job!

Over the years there have been several threads on headliners and installations. I can't recall any that turned out better than yours!

Thanks. About to do another. I hope it turns out as well. With a handle like Wasatch Jay I'm guessing UT? Lots of memories in my first cruiser exploring all over Ogden area back in the 90s.

What $ can i expect to pay for labor?
No idea, I did it myself. I do ecommerce for a living. I'm just a little obsessed with Land Cruisers so I have worked on them quite a bit.

Labor cost for my install was $600, which included taking down the top, patching a few interior side areas with fiberglass, sanding, and installing the new liner with new hardware. I purchased the headliner separately. I had it back in 3 days.
