Be aware that there are a lot of fake branded Taiho Chinese made bearings around. Everything looks exactly the same as the Japanese originals. The only way I'd use Taiho is if I got them from a trusted dealer here in Japan.

Good thread with good info, I already got 1 HD-T to retrofit on my LX, so, after read this thread it looks like it made sense to do the BEB's ones the engine is on stand.
I wonder if somebody could provide me with the name or link to buy the ACL 6B8396 supplier, please?
thanks
The bearings on a 1HD-T are no harder to change than the bearings on a Jeep I6 or any other basic inline 6 engine. That said, I have no idea how long it should take a shop to complete.I've got a local mech who knows knothing about these engines, but he is good. At the same time he wants to make money and I don't want to spend too much. With the right tools and parts, How Long should this job take?
I don't have a pic handy but the rest have the the grey bearing material intact with small score marks on them. I'll post pics in a few days. I welcome any insight. That's cavitation damage on the shell. Consistent with the cavatation problem these engines have. How does #6 look up close?
I wouldn't let them run that long again.
