Hello.
I have HDJ100 4.2td from 1998 with A442F auto box.
My problems is it don't shift as it should. When I put it in D(drive) it goes for a sec in 1st gear and than it drops to 3rd gear and it's stuck in it. Only option to drive is to put it in L position to force it in 1st gear and than accelerate to optimal speed to shift it to 2 position than it shift sometimes to 2nd sometimes to 3rd gear, after that I can put it in D position and kind of drive it normally, but when I stop on lights I need to start that process again L-2-D. Sometimes lock-up is stuck too so it don't gear down.
Codes that I got first are #62 #63 #64
What I done is :
-Change solenoid #1 #2 #3 #lock-up
-Torque Converter done by TC specialist
- Took harness from box to engine bay out to check if it is damaged
- adjusted gear lever link position
- reset ECU
After all that the only thing that works a bit better is lock-up. And codes that I get now are #62 #63.
I am getting kind of tired of this BS.
So my question is what step should I do next. I am kind of suspecting ECU is acting up, but that will requiet me to change ECU, immobiliser, immobiliser halo and key which is not easy to get and is fairly expensive.
It's kind of bad to say it I hope someone had this problem and found solution.
P.S. - going to auto shop is out of question, not because money, but to get to nearest specialist it's 800km one way trip.
