Took a peek at your Instagram page. Thought you might like this pic. A buddy of mine and I spent two weeks last summer bopping around Alaska in his vintage Cessna. We spent almost a week in Cordova, where I was tempted to put a sign in front of my guitar that said ‘will play for fuel!’View attachment 1809822

That is FANTASTIC!! Alaska holds a part of my heart indeed. Can’t wait to get back.

Yeah, I don’t know how to pilot an aircraft, so it’s good to have friends.:)

Whenever you’re ready, I’ve got knuckle kits and axle parts in stock.;)

Long past due for an update. I keep the @teq_adventures Instagram pretty up to date if you’re real interested.

Slow and steady progress as we’ve moved into winter.

And thanks Mark @65swb45 for the parts offer, if I run into needing something that I can’t get from Kurt in SLC I’ll hit you up.

I set that pinion seal in about as far as possible and smoothed out the surface with emery as good as I could.

RTV’d the nut washer, should have done the threads too.

Put the seal in the deep freeze for 30 min and it tapped in a whole lot easier than before.

Some progress.

Some weeks back I had treated the new parts with metal prep to rid them of their factory "glazing". Sure they look nice now, but it would only be a matter of months before they would turn to rust. So on with the POR-15 paint for these parts as well.

Haven't posted pics of the little parts that are painted, kind of saving those for when I'm assembling the chassis, which will hopefully be here soon.

After the treatment, having removed all that glazing.

But here's the big accomplishment as of late. What a total hassle dealing with the bushings for these leaf springs... I had to improvise a solution, and hopefully it'll all work out. I try to remember that, afterall, these parts are going underneath a truck that is destined for some trail use. It's not going into a Mecum Auction. It'll do just fine.

Tackled the knuckle rebuild. Put in a few hours and just got the one side apart and roughly cleaned up. Getting closer to a rolling chassis. Next up will be opening the trans and t-case for new seals and bearings. Looking forward to that too!
