Has Anybody used "Low Range Off Road" front axle rebuild kits?

The full size Foil Hot Plate Trays are great as well.

I should have done both. I had no idea the amount of mess.

Best thing you can do with this job is have a helper.
This job would be effortless if there was a person to clean and prep and one to do Assembly and Dissassembly.
Having Pneumatics saves tons of time as well.

Well, i just wanted to update my first post, i got my front axle rebuild kit from low Range Off Road. I'll post some photos of it's contents in a few days, but for right now i wanted to let everyone know that the kit comes with Factory Koyo upper and lower king pin bearings. It also comes with Factory Koyo inter and outer wheel bearings. This kit includes Factory Toyota inter axle shaft seals, and inter wheel bearing seals.

Awesome!

I just got my cruiser outfitter kit and it, as always, was exactly what I needed and the delivery was super fast!

Great to have such awesome vendors out there to support our hobby!

Merry Christmas!

I used a Cruiser Outfitter kit when I did my axle job. I opted for factory inner axle seals which the kit didn't come with. I believe Kurt can supply those with the kit if you want to go that route.

As others have mentioned, the service from Cruiser Outfitters was top notch.

But their site says this: "All of our knuckle overhaul kits include the standard stock style seal (Part# FA33085 and FA35010). If your looking for a heavy duty option due to extreme turn angles, worn seal surfaces on your inner axles or slightly un-true axle housings, Cruiser Outfitters stocks the Marlin Crawler Heavy Duty Eco Seal for all 1969-1997 Land Cruiser axles"

You saying it didn't actually come with the inner seals?

It came with inner axle seals that were like OEM but they were not factory Toyota. They're probably fine but I went with factory for that one part. Those seals are only a few dollars.

All of our knuckle kits include stock style Japanese seals and in fact all of our kits in the last few months (and all moving forward) include NOK seals and Joint Fuji gaskets along with Koyo bearings, so 100% the same as OEM parts, just not in a red box and a fraction of the cost.

And in the future, they will automatically include NOK seals, exact same as OE Toyota. Our older Japanese made seals were 100% fine and we had zero issues with them, still we had some that preferred the OE exact option so we've always stocked that and will continue to. With the latest revisions to our kit, they are now 100% Japanese manufactures from OE Toyota providers. More on that here: Product Spotlight: Cruiser Outfitters Knuckle Rebuild Kits

All of our knuckle kits now include step by step instructions with torque specs and diagrams too. We've sold and install tens of thousands of knuckle rebuild kits in the last 20+ years and have a firm grip on what parts are needed, what parts are not and we will constantly improve the kit offerings as customers ask.

Kurt,

First of all, Merry Christmas, thanks for your help with top line parts over all those years, and whenever we needed anything, Cruiser Outfitters was top notch!
Now if you would please go back to shipping the knuckle kits in those white cardboard boxes (we call them 'Kurt-Boxes'...), it would greatly facilitate finding stuff again in the garage... :-)

I need to order a front knuckle kit and wheel bearings and will be doing so from @cruiseroutfit on Monday morning so I can do it next weekend. I'll be ordering the OEM Toyota kit. Need to get a 54 mm socket too.

Give us a ring, we would love to help out and have plenty in stock!

@cruiseroutfit I know it can vary based on location, but what are typical shipping costs for the axle kit with all the bearings? I know a little off topic but what about shipping on a set of springs, inclued in listed price by chance? Just trying to crunch some numbers for some stuff I need to do soon.

Knuckle kits are much easier to estimate, $10-20 pretty anywhere in the 50 States, $30-50 international, depending on location.

All of our spring pricing is current on the website:
Cruiser Outfitters

Shipping on springs varies greatly as the weights of springs varies, residential vs commercial addresses and of course the location. Plan on approx. $15-40 per pair of spring in the lower 48 and approx $85 (coil suspension) to $250 (leaf spring) for a full suspension kit (springs, shocks, etc) shipped in the lower 48. Best bet is to ring us at the shop where we have access to our shipping calculators and product weight charts.

Sounds good. Yeah I know stuff would vary for shipping. I have looked at your site for the pricing but didn't know if shipping was included in those prices. I don't need a whole suspension kit, just 4 springs for an 80 series at some point. Am I correct in assuming that shipping to a commercial address is cheaper than shipping to a residence?

Yes, for small boxes it's a very minor difference, large packages and it an be 20-30% cheaper with commercial.

Will do. I need to get OME 861/862 springs too. Just may have to wait a couple more weeks for those...

I'll call you Monday morning. Thanks Kurt.

Just as an FYI, one of the other Mud members said it would be a VERY good idea to have "extra" inter axle seals on hand while doing this job just in case i screw one up while installing them. So i went to Toyota the other day to pick up an extra set of seals. The seals from my local Toyota dealer came 2 to a plastic bag, (not in the red & white box) with the P/N 90310-35010 printed on the bags label. Upon removing the seals from the bag and checking them, they are in fact now made by NOK, a company based in China. When i got home i did some searching on the web to find out all the information i could about NOK. This is what i found, it seems that NOK is a leading manufacturer, and supplier of seals for many of the leading car, and heavy equipment manufactures all over the world. I have to say i find anything made in China to be HIGHLY SUSPECT, but if they can pass Toyota's high quality standards, and are being installed by Toyota dealers in their service departments, well then i guess these Chinese made seals will now have to be good enough for me.
