You should be able to use the Eaton switches and tie into the factory dash lights also, the pins are there and ready for you in the passenger side kick panel, though you may need to splice into the Eaton harness. Pulling from pin 8 for 12v makes sense since you’re already de-pinning the connector and it’s right there.

I wired this up this week with info from this thread - extremely helpful as a reference. I ended up creating a harness and locating all of the relays (RR & FR and secondary relays for the dash lights) on the mount bracket for the speaker on the passenger side in the trunk. My reason here was the the passenger side front kick panel felt cramped, and if I ever had to troubleshoot in the field I could pop off the panel in the back and not need to be a contortionist to to access everything.

It was very gratifying seeing the three locker indicator lights shine for the first time!

I didn’t do a very good job of taking photos of the process, but here you can see the harness coming from the pins in the front, and relay mount location circled.

Sorry, I hope you didn't get the impression that this modification would automatically lock the CDL. It just requires that the CDL be locked BEFORE the axles can be locked.

I see what's going on now. The relay coil for the dash lamp is creating a path to ground for the CDL lamp.

Adding a diode like this should fix that.

What size diode for anyone who has done this mod? Thank goodness for people who know what they are doing and are Toyota fantatics!
