Good to know. Unfortunately I already installed the seal and drove it all the way in. Not sure how to assess the fit point without mounting everything up. I'll grab an extra seal at the dealer in case I need to set it at a more shallow spot. Figure I'll damage the other one if I try to adjust it. Thanks for the feedbackThe oil seal indent (holder) on the timing gear cover allows the oil seal to be installed at different depths. It's deeper than the seal. Just install the seal deeper or shallower than the original one was and the inner lip of the seal will ride on a fresh piece of the balancer.
I will check out this application. Will be later today when I get home. Thanks for the inputIt appears that this is the exact application where you would need one. Call SOR if your not sure... @Cruiser Jimmy had recommended I buy one just incase and I did not need it.
It's truly not as deep as it looks in the pic. It barely catches your fingernail. It's more polished than anything. The old seal was hard and brittle as it was definitely the original one. That ring on your hb is so deep. I don't quite get how that could occur. @orangefj45 or @beno? Would you put your two cents in please?
From what I read about the speedy sleeve it states a certain size. Does the one you have fit the back of the pulley?Gotcha. Maybe simply a combo of the old ring and a tight belt. The speedy sleeve tho tho s exactly for that situation from what I understand.
My cell is 713-805-3962. Call when you have a few min. I know your busy so anytime is fine. Interested in discussing this sleeve. Also, I'm stopping by a cruiser shop while in Houston tomorrow. Will see if He has a spare HB he'd be willing to sell. That would be the easiest solution. Thanks, Jim
