well, i learned a couple things on the past weekends run ...
first NEVER say how much you like your truck since with in minutes you will have ... issues.
secondly, MAKE DAMN SURE everyone in the group is on the same radio frequency.
no Lulo, i did not hit a moose ... THE moose hit me.
story, the section of trail was extremely muddy and rutted. there were 4 trucks in our group, a stockish BJ70 on ice radials, a stockish 60, a locked 60 and this old truck. the stockish 70 got stuck pretty quick and we needed to get him past the ruts to keep going so i hooked a 6 ft strap (why 6 ft and not longer? cause we needed to keep a short length to keep him from sliding in the slick back into the center rut) and towed him along the bank and up the hill.
then i got a call from Moose (his nickname in the club) and went back to do the same. sadly once i got him past the worst of the ruts i radio'd back and said "prepare to stop", thinking he heard me i stopped
but
he was on channel 4 and the rest of us were on 5 and he drove hard into the back of my ragtop.
so, yes it is still my favorite truck but it isn't as pretty as it used to be. new door from Japan on order.
NEVER say "man, this truck is running excellent OR i love this truck OR hold my beer and watch this" cause they all will come back to bite you in the ass.
