I am considering making hard doors for my 62 FST tub, I have seen posts here where it was done. Not sure what year doors they used. I read the windshield angles are different.

How different is the windshield angle on a 62 FST tub compared to later 60's tub. Is the 62 more leaned back or more straight up.

I have these doors from a later 60's tub that I am considering using, I also have a 2 sets of late 70's and 1980 doors I could use, but would prefer to use the older ones with the old latches. I might make my own soft doors, but have not decided. Want to do a soft top with hard doors if possible. I have 62 FST tub with factory bows.

Also in the second picture I have the original hold down hardware from the 62. Is that how they were with the nuts? I also have the windshield latches from the later 60's tub. Can I use those on the 62 windshield frame? I can make the other parts. I like the idea of putting the window down with no tools.

yes the hold down hardware with the nut is correct for the '62 and I see no reason why you couldn't adapt the latch style to work...... I actual hope to do the same on my '62 at some point

A couple other things to consider:

Top hinge has the same location but the bottom hinge on the door would need to be relocated.

Bottom of the FST opening is around 2" higher than the bottom of the hard door.

Window mechanism would be useless since there's nowhere for the glass to go.

Any time I thought about doing this, I figured on making a door with a sliding (horizontal) window, maybe using the skin from a harddoor.

There are pictures of it done on this thread, looks good post #27

The guy who did it never posted details. Will eventually PM him in hopes of getting details. ocdbeetle says he is going to make a soft top for these older FST tubs.

He said he would also include extra material for a door. Another option was asking him if he would do a zip up window in some material I could then use that to make soft doors, but would more likely do a soft door with a sliding hard window. Just exploring my options at this point. These doors along with a lot of other parts for a late 60's came with my 62.

I bought a 62 tub that already had the later style added.
