This is a non-US 5 speed STOCK TOYOTA transmission that fits in Toyota Land Cruisers. These were supplied stock in other parts of the world while Toyota USA gave us 4 speeds instead - this is the tranny all FJ60s should have in my opinion. The 1st gear is lower than on the 4 speed giving you better control under tough conditions and the 5th gear overdrive lowers highway RPMs saving engine wear and GA$.
It can be fit into any early Land Cruiser including the FJ40, FJ45, FJ55 and FJ60. it is a direct bolt in for FJ60s after 7/1985 (that have the extension housing on the 4 speed). Modifications vary for install on other models - often only drive shaft modifications need to be made. I was running this in my FJ60 and I have installed another in an FJ40.
This tranny is used and in great condition. it has had Amsoil synthetic gear oil in it since I bought it used in about 2005. I have only put about 35k miles on it since then. No noises, no problems. Comes with the shifter and oiler cup (needed to add to your transfer case to properly oil the 5th gear - this is a stock Toyota part, not a modification)
