Has anyone done this conversion? Does toyota have a bellhousing that will fit the 2h block from the h150 or h151f? The old h55f just isnt up to scratch, never has been. Looking for a better box for a custom 75 series build.

The box gets very sloppy after hard drivingNope, no factory bellhousing. Is the pattern close to a 2F/3F ? there is a 3F to H series box in the early 80 series.
Whats your issue with the H55F ?
Drops out of gear, has lots of play whilst in gear, very noisy...What do you mean by sloppy? I have been giving mine a hard time for 8 years at 500Nm and it doesnt feel "sloppy" it was rebuilt with a extended output gear and new shifter bushings.

Depends how you mean, the h41f and h55f are nicer to shift but h150f, h151f, h152f are by far the better and stronger transmission. The h55f cannot lug around 35"s reliably let alone tow in 5th.I have had all 3 trannys .. H55F / H150 and H151 and hands down the best it's the H55F IMHO
Yeah h55fs dont like 37sI'm pretty sure that the 2f and 3f belhousing will work. Don't take it as gospel though.

I would grab the h152 new of toyota, or have the h150 rebuilt by terrain tamer with their modified 5th gear.
