The inverter is not being used...I guess that is slightly unclear. :) I have a 5A USB input to the stereo in the glovebox as well.

uhhh...yeah that was supposed to be this pic, but I cant figure out how to edit

I love mine so far...the pass through dock isn't working...so back to plugging in each time (meh).

The new iPad needs 2A so the unit cant charge either...also MEH.

BUT, it is very nice to have it in there and setup right, plus I get BT for the phone.

I solved the mount issues and updated the first post.

Updated. I added the EBC slotted and vented Ultimax rotors and yellow sticky pads. Sheered two wheel studs in the process (rear) so that is a pain in the ass to fix. Will get that done once I get parts + parking brake R&R.

Looking forward to some bumper action soon!

Howd you manage to shear TWO studs?!?!?! I usually take it easy after I destroy the first thing.

Replacing studs is a pain in the @$$ though. Gotta remove the entire brake disk assembly and then PRAY that the old stud pops out with a few solid taps. I highly recommend some PB Blaster penetrant.

I got a road force balance and they crossed the threads, no way to get them off without breaking. No biggie. I am pulling them all and replacing 10 of them while I am in there along with parking brake pads, etc.

I am having the stealership do it as I get a huge break on labor with my guy. Parts are in on Monday.

The rear studs are a pain but not impossible. It's too bad I don't live in Atlanta. We could have done it at your house in about 30 min and saved you some $$. :D

I don't see how you can do it in 30 min? I could disassemble the parking brake in place and bang out the studs, then try and reassemble the spring clips, etc for the parking brake, but then I wouldn't be confident I got it all right. The rear in this is a semi-floater, so I think the only viable option is to pull the axles and do it right.

What is the short cut?

I wouldn't even take the brakes apart unless absolutely necessary. Most of the time, even in tight spaces like that, you can get the stud out without a problem. The only issue is getting the new one in. I usually try to get it in at an angle where the threaded part is facing the hole and then rotate the axle so the stud slides into place. As for pressing it in, all you need is a impact gun, a spare lug nut and a couple of washers. Just put the washers on the stud, thread the lugnut on and tighten it with the impact until it bottoms out. Easy peasy. If you do have to take the brakes apart at all, I would just take the pin/spring/cup retainers off of one shoe and slide it over a little just to get some extra room.

Yeah, I could do that, but I want to completely R&R the parking brake as well as replace about 10 studs (did I mention Kauffman tire sucks?) to make sure I don't have to go back in there. I got a cheap deal on labor so it is worth it for me vs. trying what you described (which I did on my 80 series successfully, so I know it works). Oh, and the GX has almost ZERO room to squeeze anything in there...I pulled the retaining springs between parking brake pads and sized it up and there wasn't enough room to put a stud in, even at an angle...sucks.

P.S. if you do it the way you described and manage to get one of the shoe retaining clips to pop loose by accident, you are in for the long haul anyway. There is a .5" gap to work with to reseat that damn cap on the spring, and there is no other way to get at it. Would really blow to get everything done then disassemble the parking brake (putting new shoes in, mine are original) then not be able to reassemble properly and end up inside with the big work anyway. Double suck!

Word. Probably easier to take it somewhere then. IIRC, I had to do a Sequoia for a guy once that had tried to hammer the rotor off with the e-brake adjusted all the way out. I guess he just thought it was stuck. Anyway, he bent all those pins and springs and I had to try to put it all back together. Not fun. I'm pretty sure they have a similar setup and it was a B trying to get the stuff all back in due to the small space.

Yep. I knew to back them off at least. I learned the hard way to do it right once than twice hard :)

Brakes, tie rod, and wheel studs are done! Have a little radio troubleshooting today but bumper design starts tomorrow at ACC! ( plus a few other things ;))

Rear bumper is underway! ACC in ATL is doing the work and design will be in CAD so this will become a product for them to sell...stay tuned, rear bumpers for GXers will be on the market soon!

First step is done, now to mock up the bumper :)

Can't wait!

What else are you doing besides the rear bumper? Just curious since you pulled off all the trim. I'm looking forward to see whet you do!
