I use auto dim, but Its still super bright ...have to use a black background or android auto in night mode 100% of the time.. then its perfect
May I ask how did you set the black background or android auto nighmode all time from you radio cause I don't see mine has that option to change the background? I also have that airbag light issue after installation and seller doesn't seems to have a solution to solve it yet. Please advice

I downloaded an android launcher made for cars which allowed me to choose a dark theme.. but now I just always use android auto with my phone attached, Google maps set to night mode at all times.

Air bag light, rhino radio sent me a "chip" that I had to modify to work... apparently there are different connectors depending what year and level your gx 460 is.

Thanks for your quick respond! I thought about applying a 30% tint film on the screen to darken it down but I'll try your solution first. About the airbag light issue, seller is sending me some parts to fix it but who knows if it actually going to work.

Has anyone installed a factory backup camera to a Tesla style android radio on Lexus GX460 2017 or a after backup camera as well? I purchased a 12 Volt to 6 Volt Step down Converter CAM6V with three wires, black, grey and white, but not sure how to connect it from android radio to oem camera. Very much appreciated if someone can help

UPDATE:

I can confirm that my last post with instructions and the diagram works!!!! No more airbag light!!

If you have my same H28 airbag connector, I recommend you purchase (link below) a harness like the one I used to make it easier in my opinion and you don't have to cut or splice into the vehicles original airbag harness. For the red wire I used an add a fuse and ran to fuse box under steering wheel area.

If you have any questions just let me know and I can assist.

Hey, guys, I'm new here but I'm trying to get to the bottom of this I also just installed my Android stereo but it seems to me like the wiring harness that I received might be a little different than yours. I have a 2011 GX and I just ordered my unit directly from China it seems that on the wiring loom there's already a resistor and I'm trying to understand if this is an additional resistor or maybe they just tried to install it straight on the wiring loom but it's installed in the wrong place.
I also added the white plug that I think is the airbag plug if you can help me I'd appreciate it

Not sure if this is want you're getting at, but I had to relocate my (factory) backup camera when I added my swing-out rear bumper. The spare tire and jerry can rack blocked almost the entire camera. When I removed all the rear door molding, the camera was easy to get to and only had 3 wires. I just purchased some 3 conductor wire and kept the colors matched.
So, taking this to the next step for you, because it's pretty low voltage, I'd just connect the wire 3 wires to the factory camera wires and match the colors to what you may consider the most logical way, turn it on and slip it into reverse. If it doesn't work, switch the wires. There's only 6 combinations available with 3 wires so it should be pretty quick. I showed a little of how I did this on my build thread here: Builds - R2M 2013 GX460 Overland Build
Starting at post #77
I hope this helps.

Yes my airbag light is still coming on, I'm just trying to check before I cut it from where it is on the wiring loom and try splicing it into where everybody in the thread says needs to go

I'm seriously considering upgrading(?) to a 460 and getting the Tesla style radio but I'm really curious about the airbag light. Is it possible to install one from a 470 and mount it somewhere in the dash of a 460? Pic for reference.

What connector do the wires from the "chip" lead?

I suggest you watch this video

The airbag light is not that big of a problem it is a pretty easy fix once you know what you're looking for.

I really appreciate your response I was able to figure it out no more airbag light.

whoops was trying to ask where the wires were leading to, but congrats on getting yours fixed, did you splice in the wires?

btw has anyone been able to get the rear entertainment system working after the upgrade?

I do not have rear entertainment in my vehicle so I can't answer that, but I made a PDF to show what my problem was and how I fixed it.

The only thing the video didn't touch upon was if there's a night mode to dim the screen. And if so, does it dim it enough so your cabin isn't completely lite up like an alien ship!

In regards to the brightness, most background screens are black if you're using your GPS it usually goes into night mode which is automatically a darker screen.

I have a few updates on things that bother me with the stereo and would love to know if anybody else has a solution;

1. Latitude longitude truck position gauge. Any way to reset this or is this just for show?
2. I use Google Maps a lot and once in a while, the app will just minimize itself.
3. Is there any way to change all the vehicle icons (doors open, Latitude longitude truck position)?
4. Is there any way to edit the Bluetooth on call screen when it takes a lot of the screen up and it's hard to see the GPS.
5. Since I installed the stereo I had to restart the car three times because the sound just cut out and did not come back.

Must be missing something but didn't see the pictured unit on the site...

It was just released according to someone on GXOR. Hopefully website is updated soon.

I'd actually like to maintain the 6 disc DVD-A changer in my '12 w/ML. I am also curious if this retains SAT Radio because IIRC.. the Tesla screens don't typically support that.

Maybe with
Starlink
streaming is available everywhere but we aren't there yet at anything near affordable.
