The road from Balch Camp to Wishon Reservation was a blast. One lane with some very serious drop offs and incredible views. More to come.

We stayed last night at Black Rock Reservoir Campground half way up the canyon at 4,000ft and had the place to ourselves.

Finished up the climb this morning and had lunch at Shaver Lake after stopping at McKinley Grove.

Now we're in Fresno for the night, prepping for Kings Canyon & Sequoia NP tomorrow. This is indescribably beautiful country, my pics do it no justice.

Yup. A tiny bit of rubbing at full lock in reverse, but after a year and a half no damage to the tires and just a touch of gloss on the front of the fender liner. The rear liner is pulled back to the body mount by a zip tie. These Falkens have been great, the Methods OTOH a bit disappointing for the softness of the paint finish and absolutely garbage center caps that are delaminating. No plans to lift any time soon, but I would like to armor up in the near future. Thanks!

Nice! Good to know about the Methods. They were on my short list for wheels. I don't plan on lifting until mine is out of warranty, so it's good to know I can get it looking good with just wheels and tires.

I have sliders but….. I really like the look without them, more sleek. Makes me consider a more hiden minimal set. Am I crazy? Definitly not puting the cut side step molding back in.

It's getting there! Looks good but you're right about the tire size. All mod's should be as easy as a tire change!
Regarding the "sleek" looking sliders, will you be needing a step for anything on top?
And for me, I like them wide to keep idiots in parking lots from swinging their doors into my rig. I'd rather them ding their door on my rock slider than my door.

Yes your rig will settle, especially if you're be adding a rear bumper, sliders, skids, rack, etc.
Not sure how far you're going to take it, but as weight goes on, it will settle and the ride will get better!

Functionally wise, I want to make a set of bump out 20 degree sliders, but dang, it looks so clean like this. I personally don’t need a side step to get in, but do use the sliders to access the roof. So maybe a tucked in slider that still sticks out enough to save the body from damage and be used as a step, but still tucked in as much as possible.. meh we’ll see. Ultimately I’m more concerned with coverage than looks. As I like to play in the rocks. This Ironman front bumper is gonna have to go as well, once I get better at tube fab. Sticks out too far IMO and I don’t think it would take actual rock abuse.

The "step" sliders are for my wife (5'-1") to get into our rig and for me to stand on when opening and closing the roof top tent.
At 6'-0" I'm not quite old enough yet for needing a step to get into my rig. Not yet anyways...

anyone choose the center console lockbox? wondering what you think?
also, what are you installing for alarm systems? love being able to crack all windows w/ the press of a button on my 4run, especially in the desert heat.

pacard17, my 2022 came with the center console lockbox. I like it and use it all the time. I can also use the gap between the top of the lockbox and the console top to put some items (eyeglass cleaner, papers, etc.).

Although, I live in a pretty safe area so I think I still like the passive setting better.
