Yes engine oil and ATF temp mainly, you can have too much of a good thing. Remember in the 60's and 70's all the vehicles with cardboard in front of the radiator? I don't want to be that guy LOL.

Can only monitor down to just above zero otherwise the display on the phone I use freezes up on me. At 14° after idling and warming up, about as high as it is going to go without getting underway.

After driving through town to the store, turning off and back on and another 15 minutes in stop and go traffic. And coming up a good sized hill to the house.

That is about the lowest I care to go and when it is actually cold I'm sure it is a good bit lower. I run the ATF warmer bypass unpinned in the winter and the Hayden has a Tstat as well. OEM radiator with Hayden tranny cooler is about perfect, for me. If I lived further South I would absolutely consider the CSF.
Thanks, that makes sense! Although I might lean more toward Hiluxforevers feelings, its easy enough to add heat, but I guess I will have to make the decision in a few years, truck is right around 85K and I only drive 6-7k/year. I like the idea of moving to the CSF to avoid a potential PMOD situation, but it doesn't sound like that is very common on the GX anyway.

A Prado and a Crown would make a pretty solid 2-car garage for any occasion.

I've seen a couple of the modern Crowns around town and I'm just not impressed (particularly since the "wagon" just looks like a Nissan Rogue to me). I was excited prior to the release, but the final product just doesn't do it for me. This vintage, however, hits all the right notes of my old LS400 with Goldilocks "just right" proportions.

I am probably going to madmax a crossover for my commute up the canam to Cheyenne.

I need height to be seen.

Step one: buy a modern Crown Signia
Step two: Mad Maxify
Step three: terrorize deer all up and down the front range.
Don't forget the Elk and Meeses

You might need more than a Crown Signia for meeses. My Mad Max crossover was only good for scaring prairie dogs.

In all reality my biggest concern in my commute is prairie speed goats (prong horn)

I have not seen Mule deer that far east.

Since my accident I am finally starting to shed my bad speeding habits I picked up in California and Texas and slowing down and enjoying the journey more.

F'ing pronghorn sometimes run at noises they are curious about, so if they look like they are going to run directly at you they very well might. The plus side is all the places I am around the pronghorn is wide open, so nothing to jump out from behind.

We hit a deer on Rocky Flats below Coal Creek Canyon when I was young and riding in the back of a pickup truck (as was the style of the time). I cracked my head something fierce on the cab window and had to sit with a Sprite can for an ice pack while my dad field dressed the animal on the side of the road. I rode home with the carcass next to me.

Ahh, the good old days.

Yeah that might scare a prairie dog or 2 then again might get some red mist if you hit them with it.

Meese you are correct not so much no matter what you drive. MQQSE (Rob) on TW got his name when he hit a moose with his Taco in Alaska. He spent a lot of time in the hospital recovering. They are huge creatures and can be aggressive depending on time of year and situation. Well and sometimes just mean and they are the honey badger of the Northwoods.

Bought a dash camera just for them often have them run out in the road in front of me. Usually around dark and hard to get a good capture of them. I always think the last thing I want to do is hit one and take the legs out and have the body come through the windshield.

I made it back to base with some cool scars and stories. A couple of kids at my elementary school did not. I'm always reminding myself of this when revanchism gets too appealing to my aging mind. The kids these days play their music too loud and their pants don't fit, but we weren't any better back in the previous century.

As for Moose and Squirrel, I'll take my chances with the rodents. Walking around Anchorage, AK is a trip because meeses will be hanging out in people's yards, including my family's, and for the most part they mind their own business. Once in a while they decide to engage with a human and it can ruin your day/month/life. I give them a wide berth.

Thats how the Elk are in Loveland snd Estes Park. I love it.

I am in my late 40s and there was very little wild life in my youth. It's been really cool to see deer and bird of prey make a come back.
