Switched to E load Baja Boss ATs from the SLs I've been running since 2024 in the same 285/70r17 size after having to warranty out 3 of the SLs since September. I was really tempted to just get 35s and ruin everything but I only had to pay for 3 new tires if I kept the same size due to the warranty.
I'll be curious to see if theres a noticeable NVH/ride comfort change but did not feel any different on the short drive home.

From my limited experience the weight of the tire has a bigger impact than side wall on vehicles of our mass. On a smaller truck it would be different

I'm shocked you didn't feel an immediate difference. When I went to E rated Coopers on my 470, it felt like the shop filled my tires with cement! haha

I expected to notice some difference considering the E load LTs weigh like 15lbs more than the SLs but at least on 35mph roads it was the same.

I also just realized I posted this whole thing in the 150 picture thread and not the BS thread so maybe I am just too dumb to do anything.

My truck does well up to about 50-55 lbs. The 34" MTs dont do the greatest but its easier to drive than a civic, still. So there is that.

My wife WILL NOT let me on a road like that!!! Absolutely under no circumstances, whats so ever!!!
Is it really as narrow as it looks or is it camera perspective?
A bit of both. That section was pretty narrow, for sure, but the wide angle shot is exaggerating it a touch. Luckily, it was not off camber on that section, and I was sitting on the uphill side of the GX.
I’m not a great passenger at the best of times so I’m sure I would’ve been crawling out of my skin sitting shotgun. 😂

Same.

If it's getting a wee bit too much for my wife, she'll walk it, in front of me, otherwise she's practically in a fetal position on the floor board..

My GX gets around, apparently.

No diversity in colors. Was this a white only event?
Haha it nearly played out that way. There was a grey 80. I told them they missed the memo and ruined the whole thing!

I love that Cal Parks uses Tacomas for their backcountry park rangers!!

Can you camp anywhere at Anza Borrego (dispersed) or is it limited to certain campgrounds? I'm heading out to SoCal in late April for two weeks and will be doing some stuff there.

Dispersed. There's an enormous amount to explore in the area!

Finally got my new wheels and tires installed.

Some method 305nv in 17 and falken rubitrek in 265/70/r17.

Lots of rubbing! Heat gun and flat head on infamous bolt+zip tie to body mount has solved most of it, just need to massage the front a bit more. Still rub at full lock in reverse.
