Didn't make it far enough to see any Aspens, but still had a great time closer to home in the Sespe Wilderness Area.

That sign is a touch of false advertising, this is Subaru country back in these hills. There is an OHV route that forks off towards the end of the road called Halfmoon Trail that looks like a real nasty drive. The sign says it's a Black Diamond for both cars and bikes. I'd love to explore a bit more, but not late in the day on a solo trip.

I hiked 4mi into the wilderness area and relished in the remoteness of it. There's nothing but bears and condors for another 30mi past where I turned around. I liked this sign that I think used to say, "No Motor Vehicles". If you can't read it, you don't have to follow it.

Not exactly an untouched paradise, but still far enough off the beaten path that litter becomes artifacts.

I get this, all of it. The area that I am in is on the edge of the Boundary Water Canoe Area Wilderness. After Oct. 1 you don't need a day permit to enter it and we do often, from many places.

Most of the roads here are 2 tracks that have grade in the name. Logging companies built narrow gauge railroads to get the timber out starting in the early 1910's. When they were done and pulled the tracks the RR bed was left behind and some became roads. Many eventually Forest Service roads. But not many roads and vehicles were in this area until after WW2. Still not many and most are Unorganized Territory 2 track Roads.

The artifacts are usually a rusted Hamms beer can every once in awhile. I never even heard of Hamms until I moved here.

A few artifacts in the woods that are miles from the nearest house. And wonder what the story is behind them when I run across them.

Most likely gave up the ghost at the time and no one for more than 50 miles around to tow someplace. That would be a heck of a walkout. Still don't get cell phone reception most places here. But seeing more people every year on the trails and in the woods :(

I have been on "The Grade" poking around the backwoods when up on the gun flint.

@jdam Sometimes the yellows are my favorite, red and orange get all the coverages! What wheels are you running? Those look great!

Added a pristine low mileage 2017 GX460 to the stable. Best part is that it's a Luxury trim with 2nd row captains chains and found it locally. You couldn't tell that this was an 8 year old vehicle based on conditions inside and out. Scored it for $36K with only 38.5k miles on it.

My wife and I are expecting our first child so this is going to be strictly her vehicle and a road warrior. No mods on this one except for maybe adding the Hamilton Motor Company Carplay module and other convenience items. The Land Cruiser and Ram already take enough of my money :D

One fringe benefit of upgrading brake pads is the ATRAC becomes more aggressive as well.

@Gazziza Unfortunately, no 2010-2019 US 460s have stock MTS regardless of trim/packages. Trivially easy and plug and play to retrofit though.

Ah ok, gotcha. I was confusing MTS and CC for a second. Mine has CC but not MTS obviously. I'll add that to the list of mods once I've gotten the dash taken apart. I'll probably do the Hamilton Carplay, Wolfbox dash cams and the MTS mod all at once.

Great looking GX. Very clean. How do you like the Slee bumper? Easy install?
This GX was Slee's R&D rig so bumper was installed by them, as well as full skid plates and sliders. I had them regear to 4.56s, install ARB lockers and drawer system.
