Don't forget the Hollywood Bowl or the Greek!
Learned to ride a 2-wheeler bike in the parking lot of the Bowl when I was just a tyke.
Saw ZZ Top and George Thorogood at the Greek, great show.
See, I'd rather take an old jalopy to the Greek. Have you seen how people behave in that parking lot? Madness.

I swung by the dealer and sat in an Ioniq 6. Pretty nice view from the inside looking out. Man, it's ugly on the outside though. Didn't drive one because the one I had in mind was at another lot and I wasn't buying so no need to waste everyone's time. But that ugly guppie might've caught me. Gotta think it over.

You know, some people would call the GX design polarizing. I didn't like the spindle grill when it debuted, and thought the GX wore it even worse than the others. Needless to say, it's grown in me. I also don't mind a touch of ugly if the design seems worthy in other ways.

It seems that Hyundai/Kia is willing to offer some pretty good incentives to get their EV stock off the lot. Particularly, the Ionic 6 sedan has some really attractive lease terms. They had to make the terms attractive, because they sure didn't make the car attractive. I'm an old Subaru fanboy, and even I think this car is fugly. Good thing you don't have to look at it from the driver's seat.

So, I might go electric sooner than I thought. We'll see if those offers hold up in person, but the used market is so messed up right now I might be able to justify it, even if only by considering the alternatives.
They're nice cars. I'd love to get my wife into an Ioniq 6 (or EV6) but the pricing/charging just isn't there yet for what would make sense for her/us.

Absolutely agree about the grill. When the "spindle" grill first debuted I was horrified!
For the life of me I couldn't figure out how the aftermarket world was going to navigate around that full height grill while trying to add steel after market bumpers with winch. Little did I know that we'd just have to hack it up to make it happen.
Like you, in time I've been able to get my head around it, and now don't mind it. Still not my favorite, but at least have grown fond of it.

The EV6 was on a consideration list of ours. The Kia variants look better than the Hyundai ones.

I think we are going to consider buying another RAV4 Prime when / if we sell the RAM 2500.

Kia seems to think the EV6 is actually a hot item. Spec for spec, there's a big price bump for that body on the same platform. The Ioniq6 is the only one on my list, since it's so discounted over the others.

As for charging, I can simply use Level 1 off an extension cord for the time being. They're also offering free charging at a 3rd party station for the next couple years, and there's one near my house if I want to do weekly top offs. That would make the energy costs $0.00 which is hard to fathom. I spent last night crunching numbers and found I can save between $150-200/month, pending unknown changes in my insurance premium. That sure beats a used Civic with a laundry list of issues.

I rented a Hyundai Kona EV last summer (because they ran out of petrol vehicles). It took over 50 hours to full charge on Level 1 charger. Overnight would get me like 20 miles added. Total PIA.

I'm still of the opinion that Tesla is the way to go until the NACS connector becomes standard on the other EVs that are choosing to adopt it. You buy the Tesla not because of the car, but because of the infrastructure. It's an easy choice in California where chargers are abundant and fast. Electrify America and the others are catching up, but still have a long way to go.

I just need to refuel once per week, just like always. So that could mean the free power at the mall on the weekend, or just a drop of joules each night on a Level 1. The free charging doesn't last the length of a lease, so I'll need to get Level 2 going at the house eventually, but this gets you over the hump at signing and buys time to figure it out. Plus I have to find a place to spend all that money I've been giving to the Saudis this whole time, so the expense of installing home charging is offset over time. It's not the deal breaker it was just a couple years ago, but does require some adjustment.

My current boss drives a Murai, and a coworker has a CNG Civic. The ordeals they go through to fuel up are pretty bad and I wouldn't put up with it. I know a lot of folks with electric cars, however, and none seem to struggle with it. I've had a couple of clients disappointed that they can't charge for free when they visit, but that's clients for you.

Anyone else have fun this weekend? Found out Tire Rack will shave your tire down to match. Getting a matching depth tire for my 5 tire rotations. Hit something at 80mph, sounded like a bomb went off and tried to make it down to the next exit, didn't make it far. No damage to the vehicle besides the tire. Wheel looks salvageable, TPMS got roasted.

Was the tire running low air pressure? Sub 10 psi??
Can't imagine the carcass of tire would explode like that unless it was low on air or it was hit with something in the side wall.
Was there any damage to the tread area of the tire or was all the damage just in the sidewall. If it was just the side wall and it was properly inflated, I'd say you had a defective tire!
I was at 11 - 12 psi this past weekend off roading with our 4x4 club and we had to do a short transition on the highway between the dirt trails of several miles.
I kept an eye on the temperature if each tire as I was traveling about 50 - 55 mph and no curves. The tires temp never got over 120° F. I was still very nervous. Off road, that PSI is fine at that speed, but not on the highway.

Everything was at 30psi and I drove for about 2 miles after the loud bang before it finally bust. Just let air out rapidly and right before the next exit it let loose. No punctures to the tread area. Likely a puncture to the sidewall. Hard to tell if there was a gash now that it looks like that. Pretty sure I hit something in the road, but never saw what it was I hit. Thought it might be defective too, but the noise sounded like a gunshot and still had pressure for the 2 miles prior to shredding it.

I still think the 2013+ grille is kind of fugly on the GX. They do look a lot better with an aftermarket bumper, however.

If I had a bunch of money to waste I'd really love a 2023 Nori Green GX with a Prado conversion. Amazing how much better the Prado grille looks than the GX grille, especially with the TRD-style Prado grille installed.

460 or 470, they still look neutered in stock form and awesome with some minor mods. Jekyll and Hyde rigs for sure.

Sunglass holder? So that is where it is at... Thanks I moved my glasses over from the Taco as soon as I read it on the first post. The Tacoma has 2 sunglass holders, the other I use for my 3X reading glasses. Guess they are going to have to live in the center console of the 460.

Picked up a 19 GX with 40K on it just over a week ago. Did a lot of research on the "normal" things you get for a new rig and landed on this thread at least 3 times with Google. Great idea starting this OP!

One of the main reasons ended up with the 460 I did is because according to carfax it was serviced in Texas during the winter and Mn. in the summer. So likely leased by an older snowbird couple for 4 years. And it has never seen winter salt. With the Tacoma I always crawled under it every fall and hit it with cans of Fluid Film. Getting too old for that and besides, well it is a Lexus. Last night took it to a pro for NHOU oil undercoating for the winter. The guy said it was in better shape than some of the new vehicles he has had in the shop

He spent an hour and a half sticking the pressurized wand into places I had never thought to

Lined up the things I wanted to buy yesterday on Black Friday that went on sale. The usual things, most of which are listed in this thread or items similar. Including a set of Expedition One sliders. There are also a few things I didn't even know that I needed until I read through here LOL.

Yeah...I hated the grille and made fun of them every time I saw it. Now that I am buying one, I don't hate them quite so much. The integrated running boards are a bigger issue to me and, fortunately, not a difficult fix...and you are correct, the GX compensates for the grille in other ways.

I hated the looks of the spindle grills when I first seen them as well. What were they thinking?! Now I accept them as normal, well kind of. Personally I prefer a Satoshi grill on a Toyota. One of the first things I did to my Tacoma 10 years ago.

Even put a Land Cruiser logo on it, my first 4x4 was a 77 FJ55 in 79. With the cost of Land Cruisers going up and up over the years didn't think I'd ever own another one. I am #2 on the list at the dealer in town for the new LC when they come out. But after owning the 460 thinking I'm going to wait a few years and see how they shake out. Upgrading might be to a 550 at that point will see.

Going to trim the front bumper on the 460 and install Go North AC condenser skid plate. And change out the existing grill.

The chrome surround on the existing one is a LOT of chrome, a bit much for my taste. So ordered an all black new style on evil bay.

Not from that seller but my rig is white so for comparison purposes lifted that image. The box came today and it was a headlight for who knows what vehicle. Contacted the seller, have to see how it plays out. Plan on doing the front end all in one shot.

With the radar sensor behind the emblem can't do the TRD grill or I'd just go that route. Time will tell hopefully soon.
