You can pour water down the drains with the sunroof open. If it comes out on the floor, they are open. If not, they are clogged :). FWIW, mine sat outside for nearly 5 years before the drains actually clogged. I blew them out with compressed air.

Yep spent a lot of time helping the techs do that when I was a service writer...

It's going to be 99 here today with a heat index near 110 so it will have to wait until Sunday or so for me to see if the drains are clogged

Welcome to my weather :). It's doable once acclimated, although I got a bit cooked yesterday mowing and trimming the lawn.

And colorado is on fire.

The steep upward climb in annual homeowners insurance premiums for properties in wildfire-prone areas over the last few years is making me seriously consider going self-insured on my cabin in the near future.

Yea its crazy

I’ve lived here 30 years. Colorado’s on fire every year. I lived through one of the most devastating wildfire events through the front range 5 years ago.
Thanks, dad. 🙄

This fire season is off to an above average start. 2021 was milder by comparison but the Marshall fire was truly devastating. Sorry you went through that.

We have a CO wheeling trip planned in mid-September. I am optimistically hoping the mountains won't be on fire and the creeks will have water in them.

Totally possible. It lightly rained in the mountains yesterday and with the heat dome gone the fires and smoke arent as bad in the Loveland FoCo Estes area

It's like that everywhere. My home insurance in Texas is out of hand due to hail damage potential.

I used to work in finance/audit for a large insurance company. The steep and continued rise in premiums industry wide is driven primarily by significant increases in materials and labor during/post covid. Our company stopped underwriting in Florida and California at the time because they couldn't afford the high cost of repairs.

Similar increases are seen on the auto side for the same reasons. Mine has doubled since 2020.

We had hail coverage on our first home (purchased in 2013). We moved into a new home last year and got a new policy though the same carrier. Hail damage is now excluded unless the roof is damaged to the point where the house is not livable (I interpret this as holes though the roof decking). Our area was hit with a huge hailstorm in 2014 and another this year; these both resulted in thousands of new roof replacements and totaled vehicles. Luckily my GX was parked inside for the 2026 storm for it might have been totaled.

CO got almost no snow this past season, was only a matter of times before the fires started
Yep lowest snow pack ever.
