GX still at the dealer, haven't heard from them yet other than a quick exchange to discuss the Car Care Nut video (which the Service Advisor said he's seen). Tomorrow is a week since I dropped it off so I'll be giving them a call to see what's what.
They did give you a loner Lexus to get around in with, right?

Hopefully not a 550. Maybe that's why he hasn't responded! I hope it didn't lose a main beairng or a turbo.
I havent had a GX since they had 460 loaners.

I've been given an NX when I've taken my rig in. Kinda liked it, except the size was too small. But really liked the adaptive cruise control!

Right?! The Nx and Rx are alright. Much faster acceleration over 60 mph than our trucks.

I wanted a IS500, but last year I wasnt in a position to buy. This year I am, but they have raised the price 10 to 20k on the used ones. They can keep em. I drove the new is350, but I dont feel like im getting good value at 52k for a dang v6 car.

I have been watching 2nd gen tacoma prices climb since I am going to be in the market for another 💩 📦 in 2 weeks.

I will never pay more for a used vehicle than what it cost new.
Oh, my budget isnt that flush. I have had to put about 12k on maintenance into my GX this year and I still need to overhaul the rear axle and rear suspensions.

Last time I was at the dealer they had a yellow IS500 out front. Its a good yellow and a cool little sedan but I'm not sure its a a $75k+ driving experience.

We are strongly considering buying an R2 and I appreciate not having to think about dealer markups or games if we do pull the trigger.

Was in Denver, CO all week for training with no GX. I’m kicking myself for not thinking about asking my job if I could drive instead of fly. Didn’t realize it was Labor Day either. Could’ve been an awesome drive back to Cali with some offroad side trips.

We have a deposit on an R2 ($100 fully refundable, was hard not to) which would be a perfect replacement for my wife's CX-90 PHEV. Whether we can afford it once the reservation comes due is another story...

Meanwhile:

GX still at the dealer... week and a day now. Service writer was off today so won't know anything until next Tuesday at the earliest.

Funny enough the Facebook ad I had for it didn't get fully deleted from all of the groups even though I took the main ad down, so I have a few people interested in it... and I'm still very much considering letting it go. Can't sell it broken, but it's still at the dealer, sooo...

Red RX loaner

I'm way too spoiled by press cars. The RX sure is a nice car to be honest, but it's definitely gotten the crap kicked out of it over the 5k miles it has endured.

That said I really like the RX and we are considering replacing my wife's CX-90 PHEV with an RX PHEV when the time comes

Do tell. I brought a 1992 4 runner back from the dead recently which included everything from head gaskets, to the complete fuel system, brakes, tires, suspension, the whole 9 yards and I only spent about $7k total.

I feel like we are cut from the same cloth lol. R2 would replace my wife's CX-50 and I'm currently debating if I should buy anything ever again or just plan to go back to sustenance farming. Maybe I can be a hunter...attention span is too short to be a gatherer.

Have you driven an R2 yet? I did a demo drive at the end of July and am fully sold. I just have to get my wife totally on board with replacing her perfectly good 3 year old vehicle with as many bells and whistles as Mazda offers.

Hahaha. What's the automotive equivalent of sustenance farming? Buying old Civics and 4Runners and limping them along until they're in the grave?

Haven't driven an R2 yet (haven't even seen one yet...)

Captain's Log, Day 13:

GX is still at the dealer. I told them no rush as they gave me a loaner but I am getting antsy. The wheeling trip I was planning to go on this coming Sunday seems like an eon away and is yet rapidly declining in likelihood. Sails are set for disappointment.

I fear the GX knows I was thinking of selling it and has become sentient.

Tried getting ahold of the service writer all day today, he finally called while I was in the parking lot picking up my kids from daycare.. where there's no service. Called back as soon as I walked in the door and he had left for the day. ****ing ****
