Because Toyota has a more secure supply chain

I’m missing something. with the shortage of new vehicles How can they be selling such high volume?
Chip availability, use chips for low margin Toyotas or big margin Lexus.

Both seem plausible.
But anecdotally, the largest Lexus dealer in my area has around 10% of their typical inventory on the lots. That's got to have some measurable impact on new vehicle sales. These GX sales figures reflect multiple record months which just doesn't jive IMHO.

Don't care how it happens, I just know I like it.

I went to my local Toyota dealer to do an oil change/tire rotation, filters wipers and inspection for my 2018 GX and the lot had maybe 20 cars on it, was nuts

There were no 4runners at Toyota and 10+ new GX in Greenville SC in early June 2021. I didn’t buy new but the used lot was similar.

I have 285/70r17 and a mild lift (don’t forget scratches and dings from its former soccer/lacrosse mom life, and fascia damage from me). I notice mostly men sneaking peaks or downright gawking at the car. Lexus would expand its appeal if they made an Off-road edition. I get thumbs up driving down the road, and occasionally people ask about it. Think adding the off road goodies even in a mild way makes it an eye catcher.

I didn’t want a ton of attention, but I’m ok with it for now.

I'm fighting selling my 460. If I didn't have issues to resolve related to the driving experience it wouldn't even be a question. Though, I don't know if i'm going to buy a 2022 GX since that still wouldn't solve one of my lingering issues. LOL I feel like I want to build up my wife's 470 for the overlander and sell my 460 and buy a pavement cruiser/dirt road vehicle for the long road trips where we aren't driving in the wilderness.

I find the values interesting but hanging onto mine for the long haul.
Agreed! With the amount of money I've spent in mods I would lose money and I'm not even done yet. I'm in for the long haul as well. Minimum 10 years.

Haha, I’m seeing my 4 yo girl driving this one ❤️
And then I’ll get a newish tundra 💜

I don’t think I want lockers or gears. Just maintenance and sliders 🍔

LOL my 2.5 year old wants momma’s 470. Which is good because I’d like to keep my 460. :p

My 6 year old and 4 year old like to argue about who gets the GX when they turn 16. Nice to have a vehicle that actually should be running 10 years from now, as long as it doesn't get wrecked!
