Hi all. I just bought a roof rack and got some quick n easy mounts. I put it on last light and the mounts prevent me from opening or closing my back doors - super frustrating! Any ideas what to do? Are other gutter mounts better? I liked the idea of the quick n easys bc they are cheap.

Move your rack/front mount forward to the B pillar or the mount back to the C pillar so the mounts don't catch the door tops.

Good idea. I would rather have the rack back where it is though to keep the moon roof clear. The clamp may be wider than the pilar is, which could catch both the front and back doors at the same time. I will look later today after work.

I took off the rubber boot this morning on one and the doorways able to shut but with a lot of extra help, but it couldn't open. It may help to bend the clip a bit as was suggested,

I had this same exact problem with those mounts. I didnt want to move my rack forward either. Only real solution was getting different mounts. I got some Con-Ferr style clamps from someone here on MUD who makes them - cant remember who exactly. Problem solved after that (and they are much better clamps).

I would call Greg up at Diamondrax he has some good solid mounts. I did a group buy with 3 of my buddy's this year for our 80's and they worked great. His name on here is Cruiserstuff.

In my opinion you will not be happy wih your current ones in the long run. Especially having to place them where they will fit instead of placing them to spread out the load. Or bending or grinding them.

That reminds me I forgot to get back to him about another pair of mounts.

Thule crossbars lock & the standard height bars clear the OEM luggage rack fine - no problems with door impingement either, not cheap but the locks slow down a theif & a methhead could get a quick $20 for that basket - world reality is what it is, you know.

They also sell little brackets to mount the basket to the bars, or you can make some since Thule bars are just rectangle box tube, then double nut the bolts to again slow down a would-be theif.

YES! That is who I bought from. Excellent product, decent pricing too! I figured someone here would know.

All great thoughts! Sounds like the quick n easys will be returned. I like the idea of attaching the rack to the factory bars to keep it streamlined and low to the roof.

Would the con ferr style clamps work with leaving the factory rack on? Do you have pictures of them? How much for he six?

What dimensions are your rack? I have an option to buy a 45x60 rack with shovel+axe and their holder and Hilift jack and its holder with 4 lights for about 400 dollars, im just worried that its not gonna fit
