OK. I did not burn it.

It cranked and drove. That's always a fear upon delivery.

Wesley gave me a white glove tour of his beachfront state park. Phenomenal. If you are in the area check out Camp Helen State Park

If you see this guy, hide your weed and ask to see the FJ40

All suspicious substances are confiscated upon entry to the park 😁

Kidding aside Nolen knocked it out of the park. Glad to have it back. Driving is night and day.

At least 50% quieter. Steering is crazy easy. The rig is very smooth, responsive and powerful. Brakes, suspension, gears, motor and all are much improved. Definitely more enjoyable to drive. It actually reminds me of how Rick’s rig drives @GA Architect.

If you’re looking for the spa treatment, look no further than Tilda Bogue.

Thank you sir. You should wait a few weeks before praise to make sure the wheels don't fall off

This thing looks amazing. Is it on stock steelies?
Yes stock 15’s painted base clear. Color was matched at the paint store to the rear ambulance door handle assembly. Thanks to @Jdc1 for this…

Yes. I've been meaning to ask the powder color. They look like the FJco wheel color

So you're replacing the entire capacity of each with shockproof? Just picked up a 3-speed 40 and the driveline is very noisy. Needing to baseline fluid and considering this.

Yep

I thought I had this thing done yesterday but I had a whistle coming out of the Holley adapter. It was not enough to effect the idle but even my deaf ass could hear it.

If I pulled down on the air cleaner slightly the whistle went away.

So this am I pulled it apart and added new gaskets with some copper spray on them.

That worked. No whistle.

I added a return spring to the throttle. It's got a different style throttle cable setup than I normally used and I was having to tap the throttle to get it to return to base idle so this fixed it.

Southern engineering at work

I had another alternator in the shop and stuck it on.

A little better.

My PowerProbe reads 13v at the charge post at idle and the battery was at 12.3 while the sniper readout hovers at 11.9-12

Bumps up under RPM but it seems a bit low.

I tried a second new voltage regulator and it's the same.

What ended up being the fix for this? I understand the snipers can get moody without proper voltage, right? Thanks 🙏

I changed out the alternator.

I've not found them to be moody. In fact I've driven mine with a totally dead alternator for about 80 miles once. It was down to the mid 10s and still running
