Wow, things sure do change in a year, 8am used to be late for you;)

Just messing with you a bit...

Sam and I will leave from the Western about 8:00 (yes that was a coincidence) and check out some of the side roads in the area. We'll meet you at the Metberry trailhead, I am guessing about 10:30. I'll check in on the Marc repeater at 10:00 and if we can't reach each other let's try every 10 minutes after that.

Shawn, gonna bring the pooch?

The western is 45min from my place and I had a sick toddler waking me up every hour last night so I appreciate the late start. I will endeavor to get there on time. My vote is metberry and longwater in that order if we are taking votes.

haha Travis, my scaredy pup wouldn't even sit on a parked bike...
and sadly I am lazy and overslept so I missed out on this trip. another wasted weekend...
hope you guys have fun.

We had a pretty good turnout, I think we had 12 vehicles total. Sam and I left earlier than the rest of the group going out 343 to Westcreek then met the rest of the group at the Metberry trailhead about 10:45. Had a nice trip down to the river where we ate lunch and hung out. On the way back out Chuck and Mike put on an impressive display taking the rock ledges to the left of chicken scratch rock. I can't believe that was done without the need for a change of shorts. Some ATV folks even stopped to watch the display. Afterwards some went onto Longwater, some went home and Eric and I went the back way home looking for a gulch, turns out the road has ben closed off since the fire. All in all a good day with good turnout. I did not take one picture but I know a lot of people did. Post them up!!!

Here is the only two pictures I took Saturday. I have video of Chuck climbing the steps- I'll see if I can post it up.

I truly wanted to go on this trip but I had a ferocious mountain bike wreck Sunday a week and a half ago in Palmer Park (not acting my age, riding with the 20 and 30 year olds). Mild concussion, neck and back trauma, but I'm starting to make a nice recovery now. No broken bones. I should be able to go on upcoming trips in Feb. and Mar. It's amazing how, on a mtn. bike, being off the preferred line by only 6 inches can make all the difference in the world. Kind of like four wheeling.......

Thanks. I'm far from 30. I put the time to good use, however, completing a wiring harness upgrade to my -40. I ran heavy gage wires to and from battery, alternator, ammeter, ignition switch, stock fuse panel, and secondary computer/fuel pump fuse panel, all in parallel with the stock wiring harness connections that had been grafted to the Chevy engine and computer harnesses and fully fusible linked. I now enjoy massive power that I never had before due to various voltage drops in the original system. Battery charge recovers faster after starting, headlights are brighter, heater blower is stronger, and the electric fuel pump stays steady when the turn signals are on (----- instead of -_-_-_). A very fun and satisfying project that did not take very long to execute. With proper voltage to the injectors now, I can feel a seat of the pants improvement in idle quality, acceleration, and clutch engagement torque. I'm too lazy to replace the entire wiring harness but this is the next best thing.
