Is that the one just before you get into WP? I get that one and the one between WP and Divide mixed up.

Yeah, if we happen to take metberry, that would be your only challenge, but we'll put enough eyes on you and maybe stack some rocks to keep the damage away.

I would venture to say Hackett is the milder of the three now. Hackett rock can get a little challenging, but the obstacle never changes because it's solid rock. There are some steep hills on long water that have washouts in them, and stock plastic bumpers might not do so well at long water rock. Nice thing about long water is the trail only goes maybe another mile after long water rock, so most everybody just turns around there. Making it where not everyone has to go through.

Metberry is forever changing. I remember when I first moved here, you saw a lot of stock 4x4's down there. Nowadays the dirt around a lot of the rocks is chewed away and you need a little clearance. There is a huge washout as the bottom of chicken scratch hill that will flex your rig to its limits. Metberry is, in my opinion, the most fun of the three. Especially since you actually get to go to the river.

I'm in! Along with my newly installed lift!!! Still haven't been down longwater yet, so would love the chance to tackle it. And I need redemption from that long and cold night on metberry three years ago....

What lift did you go with?

I bought the Ironman 50mm (2in) performance load with foam cell shocks. Justin at Redline hooked me up. Thanks Justin! Ended up with 2 1/2" in the rear and 2 1/8" in the front.

Looks like there will be a couple of us trying out some new goodies this weekend.

I had the guys at Slee slap these bad boys on today.

Hey Luke,

Are you definitely doing Metberry? I'm heading out earlier, probably going in from the north end to check out a few things. I'm guessing you won't be to the trail head till around 10:30? I'd like to catch you there. I'll have the CB on - hopefully someone else still has one. Haven't gotten a hamster yet (sorry to disappoint, Leon ;)). Let me know when you have a final plan.

Thanks! sg

Looking forward to seeing the new cruiser bling Sat.

Sam, That seemed like a really late start time to me as well. If you're down this way tomorrow I can lend you my HT and we can hook up on a repeater Sat., let me know. Or, if you want to go out earlier I may be up for hooking up with you before these guys get out of bed. Let's talk.

Start time was later for the north of town guys.

You have to get up pretty early to get lunch packed, get kids/ wife/ dog/ up and dressed (well, my dog wears clothes anyway), get some breakfast, load up the truck and get to the western by 9:00 to leave at 9:30. Saturday is, after all, our day off. Why make it a chore to go on a trail ride? I can hardly get myself to the western by 9, and I live 5 minutes away. Come to think of it, I might start the next trip at 10:30...

Oh, and Sam, I really don't know yet. It's going to be a group vote kind of thing. If everyone only wants to run one trail, metberry would be the obvious choice.

snow?

anybody know if there is snow cover up there? I might head up on my dual sport moto for a shake down run, but i'm not nearly good enough to ride on snow.
