GSMTR Expo Pre-run @ Windrock. Sept 9/20-22

Finally getting a thread started on the Proposed Expo Pre-Run. The goal is to start at Windrock and make out way over to Royal Blue, camping at either the Salt Flat Mine in RB or in the upper reaches of Windrock.

I'm open to either starting on Friday evening or early Sat depending on group consensus. We've talked about limiting participation to 7-10 rigs, but I only know 3 (me, roger, & Andy) that are confirmed so if you know the trails at RB/caryville MTN and ways we should look at crossing, we'd love to hear input and have you join us!.

I'm leaving this open ended since at this point about the only this firm is the date, starting location and proposed endpoint.

Either, the pre run is just one or two nights so you can probably stuff it all in the 40. Pretty sure Roger and I are bringing the wagons, but Andy's bringing his 40 I'm sure

Edit... fixed is a poor choice ....maybe modified would be a good choice.

I was very seriously considering coming with the 100. My thought being that having that wide range of rigs. Thoughts on that?

I think it'll be fine, I don't anticipate hitting any challenging enough be worried, but if we can always backtrack, since I don't want it to be impossible for GSMTR

I put a 10K winch on it so if I have to yank it up something I can. And it is of course open/open but running the a-trac and cdl so its manners are different. I am supposed to have the RTT set up in a couple days.

I will put the KM2s on it for the run. That will make a difference.

Wish I could make it with the 4Runner. I prob won't be able to get off work though. Also, it needs at least a spacer kit and some tires before it goes anywhere.

That is what I thought, but wanted to make sure. I'd like to see an open 100 make it up there, but this time of year would be the best time to try since it is relatively dry.

I am going to take Friday off. That will give me the morning to load the truck. Is the plan to hit the trails on Friday early evening or stay at the WR campground that night and get an early start in the morning? Either way, I will be at WR on Friday, we just need to firm up the schedule.

An I got my load bars welded together but I ran out of primer. Gotta drill a few wholes and paint them and then we shall see how the RTT fits. I am exited to be able to use it at least once before I put it in storage!

No. I'd just like to see it. I have been up there in my fully locked 80 and have enjoyed it, but I vowed not to go back. Its abusive and getting worse. Just too much potential for damage I don't need. But I'd grab my moto and ride up there just to watch.

I have the same concerns as Doug about an open 100 making it up the ledges to the sand mine.

If yall are OK leaving Coal Creek's property then a overnight stay at The Eternal Flame would be cool. But probably the best place would be on the Caryville Flats. Looking down on Caryville at night would be really neat. It you cover a lot of ground quickly, it would be cool to finish up towards the Elk Viewing tower north of Jacksboro and La Follette.

I don't want to hold up progress. If you don't want the hundred out there say the word. I am sure I can find 100 other things to do.
