Registration is open for the 26th annual Great Smoky Mountain Trail Ride (GSMTR), at www.stlca.org/gsmtr/ . The event is May 15-20, 2017 at Wind Rock Park, Oliver Springs, TN (near Oak Ridge) This Park is 72,000 acres with over 300 miles of trails from mild to wild, something for everyone.

There will be easy and moderate guided trail rides Monday-Friday


Your registration includes: Free primitive camping in group camping area, Thursday night games and hotdog cookout, Friday evening pizza and beverages followed by a Band and Saturday evening BBQ meal and Raffle plus a T-shirt and event decal.


The park offers Cabins and full hook up RV spaces, for more information on the park www.windrockpark.com

Are we/has anyone been able to break through and transition the fj cruiser and 4Runner crowd to the GSMTR scene to get our attendance up? I notice that lots of that crowd come and camp and wheel on the outskirts, just wondering if they typically register with the event?

I haven't been to Appalachian roundup, and I know it is lots of shiny tires, but hell, a sale is a sale! I am down for leading some newbie rides if it comes to that?

Out of the 75 so far that say they're going on FB, looks like 12 or so are FJC'S and 3 4Runners.

Joel, what do you mean by outskirts, I did not think we had an issue at WR with unregistered people attending.

I just saw a bunch camping and keeping to themselves up near the restrooms... didn't know if they were registered or not, just assuming I guess!

We have always had a few that were will to pay to camp in the better spaces. Those spaces have a fire ring and table.
