Paul is a personal friend ane great guy. Give him a call, he is importing these from Africa now and I'm sure would be willing to work on a group purchase. Shipping should be less of a problem as he loads containers full of Eezi Awns as well. Paul does not frequent Mud very often so a call will be best. I'll see hem tomorrow night if you guys would like me to hit him about it. He'll be :beer:ing. ;)

I spoke with Paul earlier in the week and he has one left! :D

Paul's price on the Front Runner's is very affordable. He said the tank was a transfer system and the install was very easy - everything is bolt on. In addition, the kit comes complete with no need to source any other parts. He said he would be creating a pre-order list for his next shipment since the last batch sold out before he even advertised them.

Pauls kit and his customer service are top notch!

What is the price range for the kit? Is it the 62l or 170l aux?

I'd be intested in this option. Did'nt get ery far with the Long Ranger option coz of the shipping cost.

Hey Everyone.

I thought I would drop a note here. My name came up and Cruisermon mentioned it to me the other night. Boston M hit me as well.

Front Runner has been around for some time now. Based out of Johannesburg, they've been outfitting safari rigs for ever. They make very solid rack systems, drawer sets, and aux tanks. I've started to carry some of their stuff and will carry a bigger line in the future. I am currently carrying tanks for the 80 and 100 Series trucks.

The tanks are 162 litre or roughly 45 gallons. I have one in my truck now and love it, other than filling up.

27 gal + 42 gal = 72 gal x $3.80 = $273.60 Geez.

The tanks are transfer tanks only. They draw from the bottom by external pump and drain into the main tank through a small hose attached to the top of main tank filler neck. The come complete. Split neck, hoses, clamps, pump and tank. Simple bolt in.

Cheers,

haven't read all of the above, but you guys keep in mind the canister etc issues, right?

I drive a '99, so the canister issue is something I haven't any experience with. I believe it is for the '00 and newer models. I have heard of the issue but not what the issue is. Is it a fitment thing? Where and how big? I read another thread on aux water tanks and there seemed to be a cutout referenced as necessary for the canister. There is a similar cutout on the Front Runner tanks. I'll try to attach a photo. Any info you can pass along would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Paul -

That cut-out in your pic is for the routing of the stock fuel filler pipe. It will not accomodate the charcoal cannister. I think the cannister location change may only be on 2003+ years.

edit: The re-located and enlarged cannister is I believe a U.S.-only thing (our funky emmissions). So accessories made for other markets (like SA or Oz), will likely not take this into account, since their vehicles don't have this "feature".

Not sure on the 100 series, i havent looked at em yet, but the charcoal canister is fairly simple to relocate on 80 series.

You have to cut hardlines on the 100. Sure it can be done, but not easily. Plus, if you are still under any kind of warranty, you've just voided it (or at least the fuel system).

I snapped some pics of what it looks like under there. I'll try to get them posted later tonight.

Only 2001 or latter year have charcoal line in the way, not mine, that's why I ended up got his 2nd gas tank!

I had the spare and crossmember out today for some work, so thought I'd snap some pics of the stupid monster charcoal cannister Toyota decided to foist on us later model year U.S. owners:

Yikes!

Yeah, that doesnt look all that hard to relocate, but as you mentioned, it may/probably will void warranty.
