Here is a version that cappy suggested.

Here is what the normal strap would look like. Would this be ok with everyone?

I like the etched version a lot. the cutout one i have is a bit flexible.

Actually, with the plain one i could just cut out a stencil and paint on a logo myself if i really wanted to or just use a sticky logo. Function over form is best, but the form of the etched one does look nice.

Shaggy, do you have a phone number you can share with us? My '02 100 with 96K will need a new battery sooner than later and I've been looking hard at this battery. Your hold-down solves a real concern.

Greetings from Burke.

Hey Ryan,

Any update on redesign plans?

Thanks,
Kirk

Sounds good.

Would it be possible to buy only the buss bar and its respective hardware from you?

Can you elaborate on the fuse block? I am kind of slow when it comes to electrical issues.

Where does the fuse block mount on the tray? Also, is the fuse block that you posted a link for ( MAXI Fuse Block - Blue Sea Systems ), just for one circuit? Do you mount that fuse block on the battery tray, then mount a multi-circuit fuse block ( ST Blade Fuse Blocks - Blue Sea Systems ) downstream somewhere? Do I need both? And if I put in the Platinum group 31 battery pictured, could I just "power" the fuse block from the extra set of terminals on top of the battery?

I know I am going to need a new battery soon and at the very least, I would like to put in some power sources that do not require the key. Pisses me off :bang: that I can't leave my phone charging in the car or that my streamlight will not charge while the key is not on.

Sorry for the elementary questions. FWIW, I really liked the logo'd straps but that would not keep me from purchasing this.

This is just a single maxi type fuse holder (up to 100A). I am currently using it to power my amp. You can use it to power ta separate fuse block like you linked, you could also use it for a compressor, or anything that needs to be fused. You could also just use this place as an area to mount a solenoid or whatever, it just happens to fit that fuse block.

I also had some of the same annoyances you had with not having power. You can use that type fuse block or use the empty slot in your battery fuse block. I dont have a pic of it but insode the box hanging off your battery there is an empty slot you can put a fuse in You can then run to a dedicated hot fuse block.

I routed mine through the passenger firewall boot

I mounted it on the side of the passenger seat hump.

I really love this setup. I have power that I can tap into whenever I need it. Currently I have added 2 12V plugs in the front, 2 12V plugs in the rear, a CB, some lights, and some other things I cant think about right now.

Let me know if you have any more questions. Hope this helps.

Got a wiring for the 12 circuit block? I have only seen the 12 circuit with 6 constant hot and 6 with ignition on

I have the same 12 circuit block from Blue Sea. There is only one 12v input to the block, so you either wire it constant or switched, not both.

I misread the article that I saved

This guy wired a single 12 circuit fuse block so two separate 6 circuit systems are triggered by two separate relays

is there a benefit to having two relays?

Based on that thread, here's what landcruisersteve said..."Knowing that a total of 12 combined circuits might be too big of a draw for a single relay, I elected to create two separate primary busses on the Blue Sea unit of 6 circuits each . . . . triggered by two separate 40 amp automotive relays." That's his reasoning for having two relays.

I got my battery tray kit in the mail today and will post some pics soon. I don't have the battery to install it with yet, but will probably clean up the edges and apply a finish so it's ready to go once the battery arrives ($$$).

My kit came with the new style strap with no logo. Which is fine by me, I'm interested in function over form.

Install Done

My install is now done. Based on the great instructions at the beginning on this thread, I had no trouble with the install.

Overall, very happy with it.

The only observations I had were:

1) The clamp was a very tight fit around the battery -- did not end up using any of the felt/cushions
2) Bolting down the clamp required a little bit of effort -- the windshield washer fluid funnel presses against the battery
3) The factory negative battery cable could just barely reach the negative terminal on the battery

Any thoughts, on if not using any of the cushions (see #1 above) is going to be a problem down the line? For now, I figured the battery is in there so snugly that they wouldn't make a difference--if anything they would make it even more difficult to bolt down the clamp (See #2 above.)

btw, love the clamp without the logo--feels much stronger than the one with the "L".

Thanks for the great product!
