Just got this, and looks great.

Only question I have (before actually trying to install it), is whether or not you had any thoughts on the structural strength of the center portion of the bar with the "Lexus" logo on it. With the Lexus logo, there is very little actual steel holding the bar together across the center. Any thoughts on whether or not that might create a problem in terms of it breaking at that point? The edges of the oval shape are the only structural connection that bridges the logo...

EDIT: Sorry, I just saw in the other thread that this had already been discussed. I guess the answer is that while the center is not very strong, the nature of the forces applied to the bar is such that it won't be an issue? It bent very easily in my hands just playing around with it, which is what made me wonder...

Sonk,

I have realized some of the flaws of this kit thinks to some input from Cappy. I am currently working on a solution to fix these problems (the logo and bolt length). I will be working with you guys later this week in order to get these issues straightened out so that we can get a great product that everyone is happy about. Thanks for the help guys! I will be sending an email out later about this.

Thanks for your patience,
Ryan

Please add me to the list for the Totota logo kit.

Want to get some input for an all or none solution:

Do you guys prefer a logo type clamp or just a strip of metal w/o logo?

I personally prefer the logo one.
Gives it a nice finished oem look.

How does this work? Do you email when the kit is available and I send the money over by way of paypal?

Thanks,
David

I could care less what I got but I kinda like the logo. And after seeing it in person I felt that the welds would hold up to stress/vibration. The stress seemed to be distributed at the corners downward and at the logo it's pulling out. There is no bending of the welds, just pulling.

Ok, so based on the responses that I got, there will no longer be a logo on the battery clamp. After seeing some real world results and based on manufacturing, I see more cons than pros in keeping the logo. That being said, if you find this DISCONCERTING, please shoot me a PM so we can discuss this.

CawwwCAWWW. No logo is good wit me, but it looked great BTW.

I haven't tried mine yet... what are the cons? Flexing/breaking?

Yeah, pretty much. The toyota logos should not be a problem but the lexus ones are. In order to maintain the lexus logo, the clamp would need to be overbuilt. There is also a liability factor for me if I am putting something out there that some might have problems with. In the end, it adds a nice touch to your engine compartment but I would not want to sacrifice its reliability for looks. I think most or all would agree that it would be nice to have but certainly not necessary.

Couldn't you just go with a wider strap and/or smaller logo to leave more 'meat' on the perimeter?

I'll report back after I get around to getting a 31 installed.

Yes, but a lot of material would be wasted/ not needed. This will also allow for stock to be kept so that they do not need to be made on a case by case basis which will allow for better/ quicker service due to my chaotic schedule. The logos can still be done. If you have any issues please shoot me a PM.

I want this logo. It will complement my Avatar.

how about just a larger oval area solid with the TEQ cut out in middle then it would work for both LC and LX? Just a thought....

What if I cut out the silver part shown here and then connect it like the sombrero? Would everyone be happy with that? This is what the logo looks like on their vehicles. I think that this would be an easy fix and keep the logo that everyone seems to like. Thoughts?

Also, I am going to build up the LC and LX logo a tad more just for warm fuzzies.

Does your waterjet have to penetrate or can it just do a relief of the symbol? Like etching it in.
