Looks good, sonk. I just ordered my kit last week. Looking forward to getting a new battery, the Toyota TrueStart battery in there now is completely trashed.

My Battery retrofit install

This is my install of the battery retrofit kit; fit, form and function aircraft quality! I used all of the parts except for one; I used a Hi-Lock bolt and collar to make sure the tray does not walk away. I also have adjusted the positive bar a little bit too. Sorry about the finger prints on the paint job will strip and repaint.:banana: job with all of the resets included.

Btw, take a look at the windshield wiper fluid cover on your LX and my pictures on the prior page. I think mine is slightly rounder/fatter, which is why I may have had more interference from it than others have reported...

I never knew that there were differences in the windshield wiper fluid reservoir over the years. Learn something new everyday...

Looks Great!

Here are a couple of pics of my install. Thanks again Shaggy!

I am going to bump this up for newbies to see. ;)

Also, Ryan, I need a kit. Send me a pm where to pay.

Thanks.

Good idea, BUMP! Very Happy with my Kit. Now I just need a place to mount a second battery.

Yeah great kit! And I'm very happy with the Sears Group 31 too. Much better than my 4 month old piece of s*** Optima Red Top that died all of a sudden in Death Valley.

Man, Optima's are hit and miss. I had a red top 34R that went seven or eight years on my 80-series. Finally, I just replaced it to feel better about having a fresh battery. Got at Group 31 blue top, and it died two month out of warranty !

Just need Sears to put the 31's on sale again!

I missed the boat by about a week. Didn't have a choice though, my Toy battery was toast, 2 out of 6 cells were shot. $305 out the door is alot of coin for a battery, but the thing cranks like crazy. Tons of power.

I have got my kit ordered and payed for now. Thanks Ryan.

I am not in a hurry. My old battery is still handling things. I am mostly getting the kit in my hands because these type of kit buys only last a while. At some point, Ryan will quit producing these because of the "hassle" factor. I just wanted to make sure I have one. That being said...... if anybody notices these batteries go on sale.....post up here so you can hook a brother up!

I am not looking forward to $300 for a battery either. Was the last sale a pretty good price?

For the batteries, Join the Sears / Kmart rewards club. 1% back on everything you spend, redeemable the next visit. After you sign up in store and via the web they send coupons.

I just got one 10% rewards back.. You can use the coupon twice. Now you just need to find the battery on sale then save even more.

It was around 10% off IIRC. On a battery with a $289.99 list price, that's a decent chunk. The only store around here that had the battery in stock though was in Aurora...with one of the highest tax rates around. Expensive but it's a great setup.

For those of you who want the post type connectors shown in my demo pics, they are sold at oreiley's and most likely auto zone as well. I also was able to find some terminal covers that work as well:

For the terminals that I have pictured:

Marine Battery Boots - Terminals & Connectors - Waytek, Inc.

For standard military terminals:

Battery Boots - Terminals & Connectors - Waytek, Inc.

For the post terminal on the side of the main terminal on the battery:

Alternator Battery Boots - Terminals & Connectors - Waytek, Inc.

If anyone wants pics, I can post some of them on my setup.

The minimum order quantity is 5 for the terminal type and 10 for the post type. I have some extras so I can include those in future orders for a little extra if interested.

I found a 10% off all purchases of $100 or more coupon back when I bought mine - wouldn't take though. Batteries and other big ticket items were specifically excluded.

Probably the same thing with the new sale. Check the fine print.
