Just a heads up, I had the shinny factory tip on it when I first crushed it, then when I installed the new one I left the shinny tip off thinking with it off it should be tucked further forward and in a safer place.
Nope, did it again. That's why I did it the way I mentioned.
So when you get around to trimming your bumper and adjust the tail pipe, make sure it's really out of the way!

Ouch! I plan on tucking it up and back further pointing down. Depending on space I may see if they can move the factory resonator back a bit.

Cut the resonator off. The only time I can tell a difference is WOT. With it gone my tail pipe is tucked and cut flush with the frame. No chance of jamming it into a rock or other obstacle.

I've also thought about moving it closer to the muffler. I really don't want to remove it. LOL

In all seriousness once I trim the bumper I'm going to take a closer look under there to figure stuff out.

Not really an update on the mod list but an update on rig performance. I drove from my home in northeast Texas to north Idaho this past weekend to look at a house we are 99% chance buying. This included a ~16hr non-stop stint of driving for fuel and to pee on Saturday before I took my first nap at the police station in Buffalo Wyoming. Gotta say, other than the terrible lack of legroom it was easy peasy. The GX handled it like a champ. I left with ~166k miles. The tound trip will be almost 4,000 miles and I'll have almost 170k when I get back. The temp gauge never moved and I didn't lose any coolant ftom the overflow tank despite being a hair over filled. If this were any other manufacturer I could never trust it on a trip of this magnitude.

Oh, and I came within milliseconds of hitting a deer at 84 mph in Wyoming. Was white knuckling it through WY and MT afterwards.

Oh #2, **** Denver and **** Interstate 25 through northern Colorado. That mistake costed me over 2.5hrs of bumper to bumper traffic.

Here's the view from the new house. It's like this about 270 degrees around.

First, LOVE the view! Guessing you're on a hill top? How large is the lot? If what we're looking at, all belongs to the house in the foreground then you'll have a nice space for "toys"! If it wasn't for our families lifetime love of surfing and ocean sports, we'd love to move someplace with more space and more inline with our values.
Second, regarding sleeping in your rig. I'm 6'-0" and the few time's sleeping in the back, the passenger side, I had to scoot the passenger front seat all the way forward and back fill the gap between the seat back the where the second row folds down in order for me to at least straighten out my legs.
If I'm not mistaken, you're an inch or two taller than me?

Right now, we're (So. Cal) are in our May "gray" and hopefully not go into a June "gloom".
Common terms out here on the west coast for when almost every day during these months, the sky is a matte gray. No shadows, no cloud definition, nothing. Just gray...

I'm ~6ft and I just slept reclined in the drivers seat. LOL

The lot around the house is ours. 1.62 acres! Not too bad. A little elbow room.

Problem with being close to the water, lots start getting small. Our last home was 50' x 90'. Almost postage stamp size.

So I'm assuming you slept at the police station not because of doing 84 in a 45 but because you were lost...

Wasn't lost no LOL. I'd rather sleep in the police station parking lot by the front door than a random gas station, Walmart or a shopping center.

Back home. Nearly 170k miles on the clock now and still drives and rides new. The tune REALLY helped with high altitude driving.

Oh and I love Wyoming, for a lot of reasons and mother nature must like that because she presented me with the most unbelievable rainbow just north of Cheyenne I've ever seen. Started as a double rainbow and turned in to this for several miles. It just doesn't get better than this. Pictures do not do it justice.

Lastly, yes I did get it dirty...then a pop up Montana thunderstorm near Noxon washed it all away.

Great pics and concur on the GX being a A+++ road trip vehicle. Our whole family has logged quite a few 11 hour days and one 17 hour day in ours - with the kids entertained by the DVD player!

Glad to hear good feedback on the tune as well. I may pull the trigger on one for my 470 next month.

Likewise with the comfort and driveability of the GX. My wife and I had no problems doing 1,000 mile days on road trips. The only issue, at our age we need a few more stops to get out and stretch. Sitting so long, we get a little stiff, but that would be the case regardless of what we were sitting on for that long.

Seconded. I think @MrTorgue mentioned it helped the transmission hunting for gears. That really is my only complaint about my GX so I would love to find a way to fix that.

I'd imagine it would be even better with a 470 with one less gear and a more linear power curve.
