How do the hats adjust? I only ask because I have a huge head and when the velcro or snaps are at their full length it tends to look a little silly. I wear a 7-3/4 hat so you can reference to your size J.

What are the plans for the bumper... :hmm:

OK, I've always wondered WHAT IF?!?!?! on the dead space under the head lights.. So I mocked up a cardboard filler. If my measurements are correct (I'll double check) I can either run a single X 10" Rigid spot or flood on just the cardboard area or run a double or triple x 10" if i cut into the main shell..

Once I get some more time, I will fab both sides up in 16ga to see what it would really look like.. Right now I am trying to get everything cut, drawn and a physical template made for each of my products... These will go to the shop for CNC design, cut and bend for not only me to help speed up things, but to offer DIY kits for the 40, 55, 60 and 70 series front and rear bumpers..

YES... before anyone asks... I am still hammering on the 60/61/62 sliders (DIY weld together, bolt on and weld on versions) along with 1/4 panel sliders as well.

The contract on the house fell through SO... I am in FULL R&D and FAB MODE AGAIN!!

Well, that is certainly not the direction I thought you were going to take the bumper in. I thought you might opt for something more like this...seats for the inlaws...:)

Since Andrea's mom passed (BEST MIL EVER!!! RIP K...) ... I don't care for the remaining family too much... BIL is about it... He keeps me in cigars and JW Blue... HA!

J
Nice. Sounds like a good guy. Sorry to hear about her mom...

He is a blast and Yes... SHE WAS THE BOMB!! She knew I loved anything offroad and Land Cruisers... Any article she came across related she would cut out and mail to me on a monthly basis... It eventually evolved into ALL THINGS YOTA... HA .. I do miss the correspondence from her.

J

J, best wishes about your MIL. Looking forward to what you do with the bumper :)

Yeah my condolences J.... I know that feeling all to well that Andrea is going through, will be 2yrs for my mom on the 24th.

Sorry to hear about your loss J. Got one quick question, would you recommend two gallons of monstaliner or three?

Hat tipped in your direction, J. . .our thoughts are with you guys.

How did I not know this?

It appears I can hold off on sliders until I see what you come up with.

No hurry, as I've got to save some dollars before I get to work much more on the 60, but still.... ;)

What type are you looking for Dan? DIY kit, weld-on or bolt on?

Personally, I would be most interested in either DIY kit, or bolt on.

If I welded them together myself, I would probably fabricate a bolt-on option. Not that I have a problem welding onto the frame, but I really like the ability to take them off if I need to do work in the lower body area. We've taken them off of Dad's a couple times for just that reason, as opposed to working on my wife's 4-runner, where the sliders are welded onto the frame. Then I have to work around them.

I could have a bolt on DIY weld-up kit together pretty quickly. I'll PM you sometime next week with a pic or two of the "look".

J, have you thought of doing a DIY for the rear bumper? Might be interested in something like that if the price was right. Also, do you think that three gallons of ML would work if one was to spray and roll it on?

Cool.

No hurry on my end. I've still got paint and bodywork to do--and no schedule yet for when I get to do it. ;)
