I've got a line on a 60 but I want a gut check/reality check from the forum since I've been out of touch with 60s for about 7 years.

84 with 275k miles
The good:
- <2k miles on an engine rebuild from a very good shop I've had a lot of experience with. Burnt exhaust valve was cause, cracked head was replaced.
- new clutch
- Very little rust. Limited to the rear wheel well and bottom tailgate pinch seam (even that's not bad). Absolutely nothing around the glass or gutters. I pulled the little plastic door step carpet transitions and there wasn't a speck. Rockers are good too. Frame is solid (with surface rust and the inner C channels looking like they all do). Upper shock bar is either unscathed or super well redone, no rot. I spent 45 minutes to an hour poking around with a screwdriver and magnet looking in all the usual places.
- new lift and matching set off 33" bfg k02s that have a good amount of life left.
- clean title

The bad:
- I'd say at least 50 percent of the body panels have dents from small to big. It's long lost any hope of being a restoration candidate or show car. It was gently laid on its side at one point.
To boot, there's a cheap rattle can paint job over the root beer brown. (For me personally, all this means is I wouldn't have guilt for using it like it's meant to be).
- it doesn't run well. Aftermarket Weber carb and a hack desmog, with an aftermarket distributor (do these also need recurves?) Runs very rich, hard to start and won't idle. He doesn't have the skill or interest to tune the carb and I noticed within about 10 seconds of opening the hood no less then 4 open vacuum ports on the manifold so I think there's a lot of low hanging fruit there.
- no front carpet, head unit, bumpers. Interior is a 6 or 7 I'd say. He's leaving the 6 pioneer speakers.
- play in rear pinion bearing.
- it hasn't been driven but a few times in the last 5 years or so. The cruiser came into his lap easily and it just never was his thing, had a lot of other hobbies.
- A/C is not working, though it was working really well recently. Good chance a recharge would do it.
- I ran it around the block twice and in that time the temp needle got to 3/4 in 100+ degree weather. Lots of original coolant hoses and a Toyota rad that looked too new to be original.

I can share the price but I'd like to hear raw estimates of what it's worth. I couldn't get a lot of pictures before my phone overheated so some are from the listing

One last important thing: I'd like for this to be a forever car but I need the option of not selling it at a loss, per my wife's conditions. This is because either an addition or new home is in our near future with our growing family. I also need to decide very soon.

I would run away as far as possible from that rig
that rig is a LONG way from being a forever rig, lots and lots of rust everywhere, there is alot hiding

you didn't state how much he is asking, but to answer the question, hard to say if it is a good buy or not

Oh wow. Guess you would have thrown up to see my old 60 then.

Thanks for the input. He was asking 4500 which seemed really good to me.

What a mess. I guess for $2500 you could try to get it running but after that, it's toast. Run.
