Nice looking rear bar!...

newcelular788.jpg

Do you have any closer/larger pics of the rear bar that you could put up here?

Is it custom?

Thanks.

NTFJ45 - I need some rims like that - how much are they? Do they have 10 inch wide offset?

Louis

Not sure on the offset :hmm:, They come from a 105 series wagon with Ridgid live axle ( Not Independant Front Suspension ) They are genuine Toyota, new approx 130 AUD $ each 16x8JJ

I have already purchased mine from Toyota and am waiting on shipping, I did find these on ebay ( no affiliation )

What you dont want is this style as they suit IFS 100 series and the offset is incorrect.

Nice 79 mate looks like its set up for some good camping and bush work the roof rack on the canopy is i really good idea
when you get you gxl steel's on have to put up some photos i love those rims they look great on the 79's i think they will be my next rims to or the 105 gxl alloy 5 spoke

Thanks Clint,

I have been chasing some of the GXL steel rims for a while, the prices on ebay are a bit excessive though. When I checked with Toyota I was suprised at how affordable they were

I bit the bullet and got 6 so I can run all the same rims.
Can not wait to get them on, I will post up some shots for sure.

The rack is great for fire wood when at a camp location. Keeps all the creepy crawlies living in the wood out of the gear in the back... or me if I am sleeping in there.
Having said that I will take it off and only fit it when I go away camping as the fuel use does climb a bit ( 20%) at highway speeds.

Plus I tow my 14' alloy boat and am unlikely to carry it on the rack as some do....but its still an option, versatillity in a vehicle is the main thing for me. This set up is great.

cheers NT
