how do you like that drive train? there's a HDJ80/81 for sale locally with the same drive train, tempted to buy it just for the drive train, it's got around 205K miles on it. the 5 speed probably is a H150 or 151. I am guessing the engine fits the HZ mounts and was wondering if you had to relocate the transmission/transfer case cross member? or buy a new take out HZ.
I love the way the truck drives. It feels better than my 80 with a similar drivetrain. I took it on I40 to 90mph and it wanted to keep going. RPM 2600.

The truck was highly modified. Had a 2H with a 4 speed. With the longer drivetrain the cross member, fuel tank and two cross connection in the frame had to move back. I built a cradle off the frame for the tank instead of the body. Not to mention OEM coils in the front. From the original truck frame is left but modified and 50% of the body.

I was wondering how it would fit. I have a 95 HZJ75 Troopy and it has the H55/split case so was wondering if the drivetrain out of the HDJ80 would be longer and cause fitting issues. Thanks

There are no fitting issues that a welder and grinder can not solve. 😂
Not related, is the 80 an FT engine?
