The 3LED one is something treeroot would do, if he hasn't already.

I received these today, tried the 3-bulb one and the letters were quite bright, very vivid. Thought it was a little too much. I tried the single bulb one and I like that one a lot better. Still a crisp clean light compared to an older incandescent, but not overpowering bright.. just enough to see what's down there.
I'm going to run with the 1 | 74-xHP: Wedge Base LED Bulb | $ 2.49 Cool White for a while.![]()
I think the cup holder pulls out vertically first. Then pull up on the center trim piece. You may need a plastic trim tool or wrapped screwdriver to get it started. If I recall, there are tension clips on the outer edges of the trim. Of course, don't pry with excessive force if it's not moving.
I'll give it another shot but there must be a trick to removing the cup holders b/c they didn't budge last time. Need a video!
My bad, made in haste and guess I missed that. The mechanism with the two green wires that I have the red arrow pointing towards. Just turn a quarter of a turn and it should pop out.Mine recently went out and I need to do this as well. Which part are you referring to that requires me to rotate counter clockwise? You pointed to two different places..

Edit: I cleaned up the photo.
Thanks for this thread. I need to go pick up a "Position Indicator bulb" part number 90981-11018.
Hey All,
This thread was super helpful, but I also could have used a picture or two. So, I figure I would throw these in. 1job and took about 15 minutes. Most of that time with just figuring out how to initially get the console up.
Console Popped up: (Like someone said earlier, put drive in Low and Gear in N or D and it makes it a lot easier to give yourself room to work once it's leaned up.

This is where the light sits:

Pull old out, put new in: (I pulled the green rubber off the old light and put it on mine, but I may remove it next time I am in there for a "whiter light". The green looks dated to me.

Then just work backwards from there! Hopefully those that want to do this have more of a visual now.
Looks like this is the part you need. Unexpectedly cheap at $6.52!Does anyone know the name / part number of the insulation pad near the HNL switch? My car is missing it, and thought it would be a good idea to install it..
Awesome! Thank you very much!Looks like this is the part you need. Unexpectedly cheap at $6.52!
Double check your year & model...

Thanks for the idea. I'll give it a shot. You can “steal” the power from the seat heater bulbs wire (for example), if all else fails. There are these crimp on wire type connectors, so you don’t even have to solder.

Quick update the #74 bulb wasn't making contact with the socket. After checking the wires and the harness everything was getting power. Twisted the bulb pins to the side of the bulb and everything worked. ThanksYou can “steal” the power from the seat heater bulbs wire (for example), if all else fails.
