I gots it.

Thanks. It was super easy. Only one bushing gave me trouble. A two banana job but boy was I sore this morning from rolling around on the concrete!

I had to cut the rear shackle pins with a grinder. To remove them in one piece meant dropping the fuel tank. Seems like a s***ty design for a Cruiser.

I know somewhere that coulda saved ya the pain but at least it's done.

It is far from here. Plus, I already owe that place for straightening my skid plate. ;)

Kitty's Grand Wagoneer was designed the same way and we had to drop the tank just to get a wrench on the nut. Stupid-azz engineering.

I did not have to do that with my 70. The rear shackles are left and right handed; I wonder if they were installed in reverse (i.e., maybe at the factory before the body/fuel tank were mated to the frame).

Breakdown in Toyota QA surfaces over 25 years later?!

Maybe. It seemed counter intuitive. I tell you what though, I think the truck gained 8 inches in the front. That's how bad the old springs were.

I'm pretty sure you can't say "gained 8 inches in the front" without :)

I was looking for a new project the other day and came across this. Found it down in Macon area, it originally came out of Nevada. Freshly rebuilt 302, three on the tree and some 29" tires. What do ya think?

Bronco? Looks pretty cool. I know a guy that lives in Macon that could check it out for you.

Thanks Sam. I drove down last night and picked it up. I should have called you and Daniel and we could have had a beer.

Nothing much. Just something to knock around in. I have never had a Bronco before. Gotta tell ya, love the V8 thing. I have always poo-poo the idea of a V8 in a 40, but after driving this little truck it is fun.

Well after you sell the bronco next month you can do a motor swap in the 40 :flipoff2:
