Just a quick reminder that the club annual meeting is the Oct 26 weekend at Ralph's in Dawsonville. This is a family-friendly wheeling, cookouting, and raffling weekend.

Schedule and Location
RALPH’S!!! WHERE ELSE?? Saturday Oct 26, arrive any time from 9am on. Wheel during the day, dinner picnic and raffle starting around 5pm, fire pit, hang out, “driving events”, camp for the hardy types, wheel on Sunday morning.

Entry
$20 for truck/member, $10 per additional person 17 and over (younger is free). Member must be current on 2013 club dues.

Dinner Picnic
Burgers, dogs, chicken, buns and fixin’s provided by the club. Everyone please bring a side dish (chips, salads, dessert, etc.) and your desired drinks.

Raffle
Yeehaw!! Fun stuff, and I ain’t tellin’, you’ll have to come see for yourself. There will be Driver’s Raffle for something fancy, and a Free-for-All Raffle for everyone. Must be present (minimally, but at least awake) to win.
Driver’s Raffle: 1 ticket for being a 2013 member, 1 additional ticket for paying 2014 dues at the annual.
Free-for-All Raffle: $1 each

Gift Exchange
For fun but with useful things that normally are under the radar and easily forgotten, but sorely missed when needed. Please bring a $10-15 gift that is useful for the truck/trail or garage – hardware, tools, navigating/camping/cleaning “support/ancillary” stuff, etc. Family-friendly of course, no gag gifts. One per truck/member, and anyone else who wants to participate (whoever brings one gets one.) Wrap, bag or box sufficiently that the gift is a total surprise until it’s opened.

Misc
Remaining 2013 club T-shirts will be on sale - get yours while they last!
Bring a Saturday lunch, and Sunday breakfast if applicable.
Bring camp chairs and your usual hanging out supplies.
Everyone bringing a trash bag or two will be helpful.

It’s Halloween!! For those of us who aren’t scary enough to begin with, do something scary!!!

Thanks RJ!!! All good info. Gonna try to get the gate open Friday night for those that want to camp both nights but unconfirmed as of yet.

For visitors or anyone else, If you don't know where Ralph's is shoot me a PM. We do not publicize this information but generally speaking it's close to the Ga Outlet Mall in Dawson county which is nice for the :princess:'s.

Me me me me.... can we VTC a night ride Ted??? :hhmm:

How cool would that be? Facetime on the phone maybe? I could mount the phone in the dash and call you. :flipoff2:

Anyone bringing young'un(s)? We can have a trick-or-treat bowl - actually a separate one that us "adults" are not allowed into, since we'll wipe out a general one.

There are usually kids around, this is a family picnic and should be treated as such. Bring their bikes and fishing poles too, there's a 5 acre pond full of fishes.

Hint for the gift exchange - check the clearance racks at your favorite tool and hardware stores. I just found something at a Home Depot clearance, greatly marked down and in the budget, and could be quite useful for someone for many years.

Just talked to Ralph. short story we're good to go and if anyone wants to show up Friday let me know so I can swing by and open the gate. I'd be open to riding Friday night as well if there's interest.

Just an FYI-- he had a moto-X accident a couple weeks ago and is really banged up, couple broken ribs, concussion, broken collar bone etc, etc, etc... Says he doesn't remember anything of how it happened.

That was some great sleep right there :grinpimp:

Franken80 is up and running (Thanks to Ed), I just have to do a couple things on Friday before loading it up for the annual....

I am ready to wheel :steer: :steer: :steer:

What was wrong with the 80? How did you fix it?

John's friend Ed who is a fork lift mechanic and knows everything about motors is the one that figured it all out. All the research that Ted and I did on MUD didnt help at all in finding the problem. The coil was not getting any power so Ed hooked up a jumper from the battery to the coil and the truck started right up and ran smooth so it wasnt a cumputer issue. After looking at the schematics Ed came to the conclusion that the problem was somewhere in the ignition switch. What I am going to do is run a wire from the battery to a toggle switch in the cab, then from the toggle switch to the coil. This way I can turn power on and off to the coil (Redneck Security System :hillbilly:)

I am just glad it is running...

Nick,

That is great, are you going to bring it out on Sat?

Cool pics Andrew, especially of the pond.

Great news Nick, a partner to night wheel with YAY!!!

For you guys coming up 400 Sat morning beware, it's leaf season and every damned Minivan and Prius in Georgia will be headed to the mountains. In the mornings the backups usually start @ hwy 306 but it's not at all unusual for it to be backed up to Pilgrim Mill Rd. The log jam usually stretches all the way past Hwy 53, it's amazing. If you jump off 400 go west a mile or so and back road it all the way to the outlet mall. Headed south in the evening, same thing!! Your GPS will help and it will save you a big headache!!
