I think it just makes it look "right". Like it is supposed to be on an 80. Like an 80 just isn't complete without it. Having said that I haven't felt the need to add one in the 23 years I've had my 80. haha.

I'd have a safari but I gather they only breathe through a poxy 2" hole in the guard ? I need more breathing room than that with a 6.0 litre engine. It'd be like breathing through a straw.

I sold my favorite 80 to @thatcabledude he then put a snorkel on it. IMO he might as well have bolted a bag of peckers on the right front fender and added some nawz and a Paul walker 24 spd transmission.

But that's just my opinion.

amazon dorkel with ebay knockoff mushroom top. 3.5'' diameter topper is what you need.
